“The property is beautiful. Our room was lovely—very clean and comfortable. The seating in our room was perfect for reading, and the balcony an extra treat. Allen was so gracious and helpful. The location was great for dinner plans and a short easy drive to Churchill Downs. Breakfast was delicious—especially the biscuits and gravy. “The house is absolutely stunning! Pat the owner goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as wonderful as possible. She has everything for you toiletries, beverages, snacks, etc. She takes special orders for breakfast, which is amazing when traveling with picky eaters. ”

“Such a lovely building, clearly loved by all who work there. Information about the property, check-in procedure, etc. was communicated very clearly before my arrival. Fresh lemon blueberry scones were there for a snack when I arrived near midnight. Wow. When booking, I didn’t think about the lack of elevator at this property. My 68 year old knees did complain a little when climbing the external & interior stairs with my luggage.”

“There are NO STAFF ON SITE. I was on tour, which means we often check in after midnight, after a show. It terrified me to arrive at the hotel to find that I needed a security code to gain entrance, a code that was buried deep within several looooong messages from the hotel. At 3am, I am standing outside on an empty street, with no eye witnesses with thousands of dollars of gear, stressed because I couldn't find the check-in code. “The property was nice. I did not like to pay for parking or amenities when I never used them any of the 3 nights I had a reservation. That additional $150 for something I never used was not appreciated”

“I feel like this hotel wants to be a boutique luxury property but it just misses. I wouldn’t categorize as luxury, but rather elevated eclectic. The rooms are really minimal, not luxurious, but comfortable with nice robes and toiletry products. And while the restaurant/bar is very understaffed, the servers were very friendly and did their best. We would co aider staying again.”

“Great hotel, nice location on the water. Booked a hotel through Expedia, Expedia didn’t send over the payment so I was charged by the hotel. When the hotel refunded my money, I realized that Expedia charged me $600.52 while the hotel charged me $460.69 for the same stay. Definitely check the cost of booking directly with the hotel versus Expedia before you make your reservations.”
