Great find in Astor FL
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property on the St. Johns River in Astor FL. We went to an event at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement and the house was conveniently close by. We'll definitely stay again. Thanks!

Fantastic Weekend
This home is perfect for a long weekend on the river with friends. Easy river access for out boat. House was very clean, comfortable, well stocked and being able to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful view and the boats passing by was wonderful. Host was very responsive, helpful, and answered questions immediately. Will definitely return when back in the area. Thank you!!

Awesome house on the St Johns
The house was well maintained and clean. I loved the view of the river from the living room. The house is located just a short boat ride from Lake George to the north and Lake Dexter to the south.

2nd time staying here

Great Location
Wonderful stay. Quite, relaxing and great views from the Hot Tub. We had a problem where only half of the grill worked and the owner brought over a new grill in the rain and set it up for us. Thank you for a successful 40 th birthday celebration!

Birthday fishing trip
Absolutely loved staying here for a week! Conveniently located close to the boat ramp and a few of the local restaurants. This rental had everything we needed. We were specially excited about the boat slip at the house since we took our bass boat down with us. The view from the living room was amazing to wake up to every morning. House was clean. Living area spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows. Definitely planning on coming back here!

Great location
The unit had wonderful setting with two different docks. The checkin was simple and the unit was clean. The kitchen was small and the bathrooms were workable but just so. Enjoyed the hot tub and the screen porch. The biggest issue was just having a toilet set in the closet in one room and the shared shower downstairs even smaller than showers on most cruise ships. With all that would consider staying again because of the great location.

Wonderful stay
We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The property is less than 20 minute drive from numerous beautiful natural springs and swimming areas. Don't miss silver glen springs. Alexander, juniper, and fern hammock springs are all wonderful as well.

I'm not an early riser but both days I was up before anyone so I could sit on the deck next to the water. It was so beautiful!!! Need to go back when we have more time because we had no time for the hot tub!! Loved it!!!! Loved it!!!! Loved it!!!! Carrie was quick to get back to us on any questions we had.

Perfect little place
We absolutely loved staying here! The home was in a great location, so quiet and peaceful and with the most magnificent view! We loved boating through the river, Lake George and the springs and had a blast riding ATV’s through the Ocala National Forest. Definitely a hidden gem in Florida and we will certainly be back to this home. Just loved our visit!

Kayaking Weekend
We enjoyed staying in this adorable river cottage while we spent the weekend exploring and kayaking the local springs and rivers. We loved hanging out at the cottage in the evening, looking at the river and using the grill and hot tub. We also enjoyed the bonus Christmas boat parade!

Thanksgiving in Astor
The property and home were exactly as the pictures depicted. Everything was very clean and had all the basic amenities that we needed. It was close to Deland, so there were some cute shops and restaurants not too far away. Sitting out on the dock on the river was very relaxing, peaceful. My husband took his telescope and camera and got some great shots of the night sky. Overall enjoyed the week very much.

Cozy Home
We had a wonderful 5 day adult girls get-a-way. The house was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Master downstairs has full bath. 1 upstairs room has a small room with toilet and sink. The other bedroom upstairs has no bathroom. Full bath downstairs with small shower. Worked for us. Small kitchen but good size fridge and freezer! Hosts were wonderful and very responsive! Beds were comfortable. Would come back again!

Great place and wonderful Host
This is my first time renting VRBO in Astor and could not ask for better. My father has lived in Astor after retiring and I have always stayed in a hotel in Deland to visit which is not convenient to spend time with family due to drive time to and from Deland. This place is a jewel! I would recommend this place for anyone who loves nature, the St. John’s River, and needs to unplug and relax . It is private, quiet, and perfect for waking up to enjoy your coffee on the River. Hot tub is a huge bonus. This place has everything you need for a place to get away, relax, fish, get out on the water, and enjoy the day.

An absolutely wonderful and relaxing experience. Host was superb. The rental was the cleanest and cutest place. Everything we could want was available. Hosts advice on where to go and dine was spot on. Relaxing on the outside deck on the water was beautiful!!

Lovely home on the river
Very nice spot on the river. FYI, 22ft tritoon fit perfectly in river boat slip. Comfortable beds, good water pressure & jacuzzi was a nice way to unwind in the evenings. We would love to return to this house again!

Easy living at the river
The property is well kept and very clean. Communication with the owner was fast, uncomplicated and very effective; check-in was easy. We enjoyed sitting on the deck or pier, watching boats go by on St Johns River. Carrie provided a lot of information about all kind of activities(kayaking, biking, pontooning...) and recommended a great restaurant. AC was working very well. Beds were a little too soft for our liking. Neighborhood is very quiet during the night, which was a big plus. We would like to come again and can highly recommend the house.

Relaxing River Cottage
Our family stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We checked out the Ocala National Forest ATV trails. They were only 15 minutes from the cottage. We also enjoyed Springs, fishing in the river and a scenic boat tour. Great relaxed area!! Thanks again!

Going fishing
Great place for fishing & boating. Access to several lakes plus St John’s River. Has two boat docks one being on river which we did not use and the other behind the house which is protected from boat traffic. Inside was very clean and comfortable.

Birthday Weekend
We rented this house for my Husbands and Friends birthday weekend. The house was very clean and cozy. The beds were so comfy that none of us wanted to leave. Checking in and out was very easy, we were very appreciative of an early check in time. While the house is a decent boat ride from lake george and the springs it’s a pretty ride. There is a very good restaurant just across the bridge called Blackwater Inn. Must try the fish Reuben. The hot tub was a nice added bonus and good place to relax after a long day on the water. Overall, we really enjoyed our weekend and would stay again!! Thank you Carrie for sharing your house with us!

Amazing Riverfront Cottage
Great location on the river. I’ve never been to the St. John’s River, so I was pleasantly surprised by our stay. The home was clean and had just enough of the basic amenities to allow the 5 of us to enjoy family time. Plus, there are two boat docks and the best view of the river. We loved it!

Perfect is the word for this place in my opinion.
The river is very busy on weekends (in my experience) but much quieter during the week. We liked it a little of both ways. Very comfortable. Everything was perfect.

Weekend getaway with water access!
Perfect property for our family of 5 to visit for the weekend and explore the local waterways and springs! The house was clean and easy to use. We enjoyed the river front views close to the Astor bridge, and utilized the riverside dock for quick stops as well as the canal side dock for mooring our 17' Boston Whaler overnight. Everything was great!

Far exceeded expectations!
Clean and comfortable! Beautiful view and home has everything needed for my family and friends to enjoy a relaxing weekend on the river. The canal along the side was a perfect space to dock our boat too. We absolutely hope to return very soon.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! We have never stayed anywhere so perfect for our needs!! Clean & updated with adorable decor and the most comfortable beds! Well exceeded our expectations & view was amazing! Dock in back fit our particular needs wonderfully & was very easy to use. Front deck & dock was great & the hot tub was a game changer! Owner was wonderful, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & hated to leave!!

Awesome view
The house is adorable. We loved the view of the river and the hot tub. We were there to celebrate our brothers life. He lived in Astor for many years and loved the water. We could not have found a better place..the owners were very nice, the house is very clean. We would like to go back again.

Beautiful house, perfect location!
We were blown away by this property. It is such a cute house and is in the perfect location in Astor. We only had 4 people, but the house comfortably accommodates 6. There are two docks, one on the main channel and one on the canal behind the house. It was so nice being able to park the boat on the canal and avoid all of the traffic of the main channel. The owners were so accommodating and kind. We will DEFINITELY be back!
