Right from the start you feel that it is going to be different. With a private carpark, accessed via the No Through Road off Market Place, you are in a courtyard with two impressive stone Gothic Revival buildings - the old Sessions House (1841) and the matching County Hall of 1927 - which now houses the hotel. “They could of been a car park with the hotel but therexwas not and i think it is wrong thatcwe had to pay for car park aswell ”

“Very basic hotel and quite dated. Close to town centre. No kettle in the room. No hot water. We where only there for 1 night. Staff not around but there is a number to call if needed.”

“Well appointed. Very modern and clean. Very efficient breakfast and all amenities were excellent ”

“The manager was warm and welcoming if we needed anything we had contact details. Windows and wood work could do with cleaning. Overall pleasant stay and would definitely stay again comfy bed clean room.”

“mud stains on the carpet upon arrival, cannot fill kettle from the sink, had to use glass to fill kettle, otherwise lovely stay, nice and quiet”

“Everything was fantastic after we got our key but what happened was it was too much noisy and in the bathrooms there was no hand wash but room wise fantastic had no problem and hopefully there was a fan there because it gets quite hot in there but overall a fantastic place to go to and I go every 1 to 2 weeks and I like that it’s in one place where I got food near me and corner shops so yeh ”

“The staff greeted me professionally and friendly too making me feel very welcome.The room had fantastic views and the shower was fantastic and the tea/ coffee was good quality ie PG tips/Nescafé. Microwave was a real bonus. Only thing you need to do is pay attention to the warn out flooring and a small whole on grey blind. Will always stay there as great staff, fantastic rooms and excellent value for Money.”
