We were incredibly disappointed with this stay. There was a major issue at the house that caused the entire inside of the house to persistently reek of raw sewage combined with ammonia and a strong rotting smell. The host made some attempt to remedy the situation but ultimately did not, which is why I can’t in good faith give a higher rating for this stay. The smell was so terrible that we couldn’t breathe the air inside the house without nearly being sick. It was really frustrating that it played out this way, because we pleaded with the host to have a competent plumber come to the house to check the pipes for a sewage issue, but they were convinced it wasn’t a plumbing issue and blamed it on a dead squirrel in the crawlspace, rather than having the pipes properly checked. There was also an ant problem inside the house, which, in fairness, we didn’t raise with the host but tried to treat ourselves in an attempt to be good guests. I will also mention, if you are someone who values peace and quiet, the neighbor nearest to the primary bedroom has a basketball goal right outside, and the kids who live there play basketball at all hours of the day, for hours at a time, so you are constantly hearing dribbling on the concrete. I had such high hopes for this stay. The location is wonderful, but pretty much everything else was a letdown.
