The Chalet on Private Lake

The Rental includes 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, large living room, full kitchen, washer (detergent provided) and dryer, ac/furnace, wood burning stove for additional heat and ambience, beautiful back deck just steps away from Love Lake. Free WIFI and Satellite TV! Linens provided for the 2 queen beds ONLY, large couch in living room with a full futon for extra sleeping! Extra blankets and towels provided as well. Pack and Play available upon request - $10 If you are coming up to ATV or snowmobile, we ask that you DO NOT ride machines on the property; but can ride to trails from property.

This is my new go to place when I'm in the UP. Phenominal location, with great hosts. It is so peaceful and quiet that you can't help but want to just soak it in. It's absolutely woth the extra few minutes of drive time into town.

Absolutely gorgeous cabin and location! We walked in the chalet and our son said - “This feels like home!” All 3 of our kiddos enjoyed squeegeeing the shower.We thoroughly enjoyed kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and seeing the box turtles. We could’ve stayed at the resort and not gone anywhere for the duration of our stay. We would love to return and stay longer!

We booked this 4 night stay originally for just my wife & I as part of our two week upper peninsula vacation. When my daughter s family (of 5) asked if they could join us our host said there was room for air mattresses and they had a futon. We fit and we loved our Chalet by the lake! Our back porch was just steps from the lake, and what a beautiful place to sit and enjoy her morning coffee.I was pleasantly surprised by the beach, swim platform, and kayaks. It cooled off the week we were there, but it was still used by our grandkids.The place was very clean, had all the amenities listed, a great fire pit, and had a building right next-door that had a nice bathroom since we had seven people sharing one bathroom in the chalet. The building had a nice shower too.An unexpected bonus was the hiking on the property. The trails were just beautiful.Our host responded quickly to every question. I highly, highly recommend this host and our cabin.

Amazing Rental - A!

If you are looking for the perfect location in the Atlantic Mine/Houghton area we 100% recommend this property! Close proximity to Michigan Tech, trails, fishing, etc. Cabin was beautiful, clean, has everything you need for your stay (minus food, lol!), the property has fantastic trails for hiking, wildlife, and kayaks, paddle boards and canoe available, a small beach and great atmosphere. Will definitely book here again!!! There are multiple cabins available along with a dining hall type building as well as picnic tables and large deck area and would be excellent to book for an event, wedding, family vacation, etc. Thank you to the owners, you have a great property!

This is a wonderful house on a beautiful little lake outside of town. It is calm and peaceful. It is very nice and comfortable and it is in very good condition. The host is great. You will really enjoy this place!

Great location and lots of things for the kids to do!

Cabin was nice and clean. Only thing I'd recommend to improve the experience was the downstairs bed was a little squeaky getting in and out of.

Perfect Space for Gathering

The location was perfect for accessing MTU campus for Winter Carnival activities while also providing a great open space for late nights of board and cards games as well as movies. The kitchen had everything we needed. Definitely hope to return in the summer and enjoy the outdoors more!

Great Stay!

The cabin was clean and tidy with all of the usual things you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. I really appreciated the good internet and wifi signal in the cabin. The hosts were very easy to work with and I have NEVER had a smoother checkin and checkout experience. I appreciated the binder with information and the snowmobile map on the fridge with the best way to get to the trails.Thanks!

Pictures don’t do it justice!

This is a beautiful cabin! Very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed exploring the Keweenaw peninsula and the Porcupine Mountains. Also Calumet is a very cute city. Amazing trip!

Husky Visit

MTU Fall Recess getaway

What a perfect location for a quiet family weekend! We had a great time exploring the Keweenaw area with our MTU student. The location was central for all of our planned activities. The home was clean, modern, and comfortable.

Upper Peninsula Vacation

Great time! Cabin had everything you could need. The huge sliding glass door looking out to the lake was very nice. Just sitting on the huge porch, listening to the water and watching for wildlife was exactly the vacation we were looking for.

Stunning, Relaxing and Perfect

This was better than we could imagine! Such a beautiful place. It was quiet, clean, plenty of things to do for all ages, and above all relaxing! There were a lot of activities to do in the surrounding area as well, which was nicely noted in the welcome binder. Michelle and Carl were fabulous! They were very responsive when we had any questions, polite and just very kind people. We can't wait to come back.

Great Getaway

This cabin is great! Very clean and spacious. We loved sitting out on the deck overlooking the lake. The owners responded to our questions very quickly and were very nice. One minor downfall is not having a dishwasher. But not a huge deal and doesn't change the 5 star rating we gave. We would definitely come visit again. Thanks for having us!
