Do not stay in apartment 305 of Spencer Apartments! It is dirty,
dingy and scruffy.
It is not the spacious, airy, high-quaity apartment portrayed in the Wotif advertisement! It is poky, with an extra (single) bed shoved in the corner of an already tiny living room and the furnishings/carpet have seen better days/are of poor quality.
There are no floor to ceiling windows with views, as shown in the advertisement. In fact, our (high) windows all had scaffolding right up against them - which no-one had thought to mention. We felt like we were in a prison. We would have stayed elsewhere, had we known.
Within minutes of arriving we found a piece of chewed gum on the carpet in the living room, plus
- the bathroom cupboards were damaged & falling apart
- the living room furniture was scuffed & damaged.
- the sofas were worn & stained
- the vent over the shower was clogged with old dust, as was the hairdryer
- there were only two coffee mugs in the apartment, which was not enough for the three of us checked in
- the control knob was missing from the stove
- there were no lights in the kitchen area
In all, we were appalled that the owners feel justified in charging $300 for such a poor quality suite & I wonder if the Spencer on Byron are aware of the condition of your unit as it would surely threaten their good reputation.
Lastly, the owners have not responded to any of my 3 emails complaining about the condition and price of the unit. Clearly they do not care.
