“We booked Hempstead House for a relaxing night away, but instead spent the evening listening to a wedding reception directly beneath our room. The loud music, guests partying in the courtyard and noise from people returning to their rooms meant we had a very poor night’s sleep. “Overall we were happy with our stay. The outside if the hotel and grounds are pretty, the food in the evening and morning was to a very high standard. We stayed in a very good sized suite, which pleasantly surprisingly had 2 bathrooms with matching showers, toilet and bath. On the whole, the staff were polite and accommodating to our requests. “This place is a little hidden gem. An ideal stop-over in an area that struggles to offer B&B's of this high standard. The room was excellent - very clean and well appointed, the staff were pleasant and attentive and the breakfast was perfect. The area is quiet, so don't expect much to do in the evening unless you want to drive, but some pleasant walks.
