Bass Harbor Oceanfront Chalet: tranquillo, privato, ottima vista sull'oceano

Questa è un'incantevole casa in stile chalet con una facciata a terra di 200 piedi sul Bass Harbor, con vista sul porto e sulle isole periferiche. Lo Chalet si trova su un terreno alberato privato (schermandoti dai vicini), con un grande ponte 12 'x 24' con vista sul porto.

Rilassati sul ponte e guarda le aragoste, le barche a vela, le canoe, i kayak e il traghetto per l'isola dei cigni all'interno del porto, o goditi la vista dal soggiorno completamente arredato, dalla zona pranzo o dalla camera da letto con vista sull'oceano. I bambini adoreranno nutrire le anatre che visitano la riva e godrai anche dei tramonti dalla nostra riva. Sono spettacolari! Lo "Chalet" dispone anche di un ampio parcheggio fuoristrada.

La proprietà è adiacente al Parco Nazionale Acadia, che offre splendidi scenari e queste opportunità ricreative: montagne, vista sull'oceano, laghi d'acqua dolce e sentieri escursionistici. Sono inoltre disponibili crociere ed escursioni naturalistiche, osservazione delle balene, kayak, ciclismo su strade di trasporto e pesce fresco! Ci sono molti ristoranti entro tre miglia.

NOTA: il prezzo notturno è stato ridotto dal 12 ottobre al 2 novembre, perché i servizi TV e WiFi sono stati chiusi. Il WiFi è disponibile presso la Southwest Harbor Library. Il costo del noleggio è quindi ridotto di oltre il 25% durante questo intervallo ed è inferiore del 44% rispetto ai nostri prezzi estivi.

All rubbish must be placed in supplied tall plastic bags (max of 6) and rubbish tote taken to end of driveway by 10:00 a.m. on Thursdays.
At least one load of laundry should be run before final departure on Saturday. The house also should be left reasonably neat as well.
There should not be a "large" number of day visitors, because it may tax the water supply and sceptic system. (To date this has not been a problem.)

The chalet was clean and cozy, perfectly suited for relaxing by the harbor. This trip to Acadia, we decided to stay on the quieter side of the island and it was beautiful. The back deck was perfect to sit on and drink coffee while listening to the birds and waves lapping on the shore. The kitchen was well equipped and worked wonderfully for the times we didn’t want to eat out at a restaurant.We enjoyed the small-town pleasantries that nearby Southwest Harbor had to offer when we didn’t want to take the 40 minute drive to Bar Harbor or the major hikes of Acadia. Overall, it is a beautiful little chalet on the water and we had a wonderful stay!

The property was as described and very clean. Very peaceful and a terrific view. I would say the location is mostly private (construction/ near by house). This house overall is very comfortable and felt like a 2nd home to me. The deck has terrific views of the harbor and the location is very near to Acadia.

What a magnificent location on Bass Harbor. This location is just what we were looking for - quiet! We were able to kayak right of the property during high tide. The Chalet was clean and well equipped. The host answered any question promptly.

Highly recommended. Great location, far away enough from the crowds elsewhere on the island, but still close to a few dining options and a few shops. The owners of this chalet really went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and pleased with our stay. Very pleased we chose to stay in their accommodations.

Best place we have stayed on the quiet side of MDI

This was one of the best places we have stayed on MDI. Close to our favorite lobster pound, Thurston's. We have always enjoyed staying on the quiet side of MDI, and this house was in the perfect location. There was really nothing missing that we needed. I just wished I would have brought my kayaks. Definitely next time.
This is a picture off the deck on a foggy day. On clear days you can see much further into Bass Harbor.

Lovely and peaceful home

This chalet is adorable, right on the water! So peaceful, comfy beds, and perfectly located for Acadia. Warren was so nice, and we loved staying in their family home. You can tell it's a special place to them, and we're so glad we got to experience it.

A Great Week on the Quiet Side

House is exactly as promised.. Beautiful spot on the water. House was very clean. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Bedrooms are upstairs from the bathroom which was ok for us. Owner very responaive to queations / requeats.

Great communication with the owner. Beautiful property. Quaint chalet. You can tell the owners take pride in it and it is very well taken care of. They genuinely care about the guests that stay and their chalet. They had lots information on things to do. Wonderful memories made. I really hope we can make it back here one day!

Great house in a beautiful location!

My wife and our two teenage daughters had a wonderful week staying at this house. As described, the house is right on Bass Harbor, which makes hiking around Acadia and going to the ocean very easy. We love 'the quiet side' of Mt. Desert Island and Warren's house is the perfect spot to enjoy it. We hope to come back!

Peace on MDI

This is such a lovely little chalet right on the water. On the quiet side of the island which is what we wanted. Absolutely loved just sitting outside and watching the changing tides. Several restaurant options nearby but everything you need to cook at the chalet too. Very clean and lots of information provided by the hosts. Easy check in and out. Will definitely stay here if we are able to return to Maine again.

Wonderful Peaceful Location

The Chalet was incredible and the owners were fabulous in their communication. It was easy to find, very clean, very peaceful and a beautiful location. Everything was perfect and I would stay there a million more times!

Great location

Great location, near Acadia but away from the crowds. Nice views, that change dramatically with the tide. The chalet has all you need, and was clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was good as well.

Exceptional in every way!

17 years visiting Maine, last 5 yrs MDI area. The Elvin's Cottage by far the best overall stay! Cleanliness of the cottage, felt like staying in someone's home, not a rental. Communication fast, and friendly with many suggestions. Location, honestly the best for everything. We drove 1500 miles from GA, What's another 20 miles to Bar Harbor area. This year we came to relax, walk the carriage roads and Jordan's pond and eat Lobster everyday! Purchasing Lobster from Long Hill Lobster guy and wife, and cooking at the cottage, eating on the deck was the best! Along with take out from Thurston's. Plan on returning 2024

Wonderful Vacation Chalet!

My husband and I spent a very comfortable and cozy week at the Elvins Chalet! We celebrated his birthday and our anniversary during the week. The Chalet had everything we needed including privacy on the deck in front of the Harbor!! We visited Acadia National Park and took several day trips exploring the island. Would definitely return!

Quieter side of MDI

The quaint chalet was a perfect location for my family as we revisited Mount Desert Island. We chose the quieter side away from the bustling Bar Harbor. The chalet amenities fit our family of 4, especially the deck overlooking the harbor. The detailed instructions provided in the mail by the Elvins as well as at the chalet were helpful in finding new things to do in addition to Acadia National Park. We had a wonderful time and appreciate the Elvins' sharing their chalet with us.

Perfect Chalet

We absolutely loved this Chalet! It was so picturesque and the cleanest and most well stocked VRBO we've ever rented. The owners truly care about their renters, which is evident in all the helpful information they share about the chalet, as well as the surrounding area, places to see, things to do, restaurants to try, etc. We hope to visit MDI in the future and make this chalet our home base again.
