A great apartment
Really nice apartment, clean and has everything you need for 1 or more nights stay. We used it as a base for our trip to the Zoo. Whilst in Barrow, we found a little museum to entertain the kids (Dock Museum), a nice little walk along the promenade and then a lovely Italian for our evening meal (Salvanas). Can’t fault the apartment but the area does feel a little run down. There are buildings works opposite and at the side of the apartments, not noisy when we stayed but stinky as they were burning stuff which made the apartment and whole area smell for hours.

Excellent
We were all very impressed with this property, maintained to a very high standard, everything you needed for a comfortable stay, I'm actually from Barrow and when not staying with family I will definitely look at booking these again. Exceptionally clean, which is really important to me.

A relaxing break
The apartments are comfortable, clean and quiet. I could not fault the apartment or anything at all to do with the booking but the area is under regeneration. I was a little shocked at the decline of Barrow having last been 40 years earlier.

This apartment was spacious and clean and very easy to access thanks to use of a Yale lock. However, this property was not cheap, it cost more than a night's stay in Glasgow, yet had no late-check out (you were charged by the hour if you wanted to stay any longer than 10am, which is quite an early check-out). I didn't check in until 2030 but that's neither here nor there. The hot water didn't work. There's no way to fix or try and alter it because they've locked the box. I also booked this because they said they had an affiliation with a gym but when I asked for the gym access arrangements they just sent me a text telling me where the nearest gym was. (So, no hot shower). I believe this place is an absolute rip-off that clearly depends on the military and VIPs visiting to make the money. This is in no way a fair and reasonable cost for the location of Barrow, the lack of services provided, including basics like hot water and the complete lack of inflexibility for those working overnights and needing an extra hour of sleep (slightly later check-out). I would avoid at all costs. At least at a 3 star you'd be paying for 3 star service. Hugely disappointed, wish I'd never booked and an offer of a partial refund would have been a basic expectation given no hot water but absolutely zilch from them.

Perfect for friends, family or on your own.
The hotel, service and parking which was important to me was perfect. I cant fault anything at all. I am a light sleeper so if you are just take ear plugs, but I do that anyway. Other than that the place was perfectly located for us.

Fantastic apartment. Very clean... modern and equiped with everything needed. Beds amazingly comfortable ... alot of attention to detail in the cleaning and comfort of the apartment. Like a home away from home.

Although this is unfortunate for us we do understand who our guest was in this instance and also believe this is a very unfair review. A genuine housekeeping mistake led to the apartment booked not being available when the guest moved in. To compensate we gave the guest 2 apartments for their enjoyment and also discounted the rate by 50% and refunded the guest. For our mistake we apologise whole heartedly however disagree with the review score. Abbey Apartments Management Team

Awesome stay
Great place to stay. Got sent comprehensive directions before arriving. Loads of room in the car park despite being fully booked. I am not at all surprised it was difficult to get an apartment as the one I was in was brilliant. Full kitchen with everything which is good if you work away a lot and get bored of restaurants.

Lovely apartment, well presented and maintained. One gripe heating times quoted in the info in the flat were wrong. I wasnt sure if it would come on or not for the evening so texted Manager. She responded straight away and confirmed the time it would cone on and offered to come round and turn it on immediately if i wanted.

The Manager Louise was so lovely & accommodating. Great location with free parking, beautiful clean & modern Spacious apartment. can’t speak highly enough about these apartments, would definitely stay there again

Photos don't do it justice - amazing apartment!
We took the executive decision to spend £25+ more between two of us to get an apartment with two bedrooms instead of sharing a twin room, and it was the best money we spent that weekend. The apartment was massive - the photos really didn't do it justice - and it had everything we needed. The parking was a major plus, the area felt safe, and it was only a short distance from two decent pubs and a good curry house. The beds were comfortable, it was really clean, and communication with owner Louise was wonderful - a real class act. The only criticisms I'd have are the lack of shower gel in the showers - apartments I've stayed in always have a couple of disposables to hand, or a permanent dispenser (but it was only an issue because I forgot my own bottle!) - and the Blaupunkt HDTVs were a bit poor (bad response to remotes, poor sound quality, picture quality a bit off) - but we weren't there to watch tons on the box anyway. It was nice to have Sky, mind, but it's £2 for a remote, so be sure to request it (we didn't end up using it, but it was worth a couple of quid just in case!). Even more lovely was the fact I'd left my phone charger behind - but the owners wrapped it in a plastic bag and slipped it under our car door handle!
