Little Island House è una casa a due piani a Bass Harbor, sull'acqua.

Uno entra al piano superiore dalla scala esterna al ponte e porta scorrevole in vetro. Entra nella zona giorno / pranzo, con un camino in granito dal pavimento al soffitto e il soffitto della cattedrale con lucernario. La cucina (recentemente rinnovata nel 2015) è ben fornita e ha un'ottima vista a sé stante. Una zona studio ai piedi delle scale per la camera da letto estende il tuo spazio abitativo. La camera da letto al terzo piano, anch'essa con lucernario, ha un letto matrimoniale. Il bagno / doccia sono dietro l'angolo della cucina. Il mazzo si estende attorno al lato e alla parte anteriore della casa. L'appartamento può ospitare due persone.



L'appartamento ha un riscaldamento centralizzato per la bassa stagione, un'eccellente ventilazione in estate e tutta la legna da ardere che si desidera. Inoltre sono inclusi TV via cavo, telefono, WiFi, tutta la biancheria (letto, bagno e cucina) e cucina ben attrezzata. Arredamento perfettamente pulito e delizioso. All'aperto: mobili da ponte e grill. Non fumare, niente animali.

Sono contento di essere sul "lato tranquillo": i panorami sono bellissimi. Bass Harbor è stato fotografato per la copertina di un libro del National Geographic sul New England ed è stato il sito di numerosi film. Le barche da pesca dell'aragosta sono sempre interessanti e se ami la fauna selvatica, le aquile sorvolano il porto ogni giorno. Un giorno di settembre abbiamo contato dodici aironi con la bassa marea e abbiamo visto i tramonti, le anatre, le sterne e i gabbiani che lavoravano nel porto.

Anche se siamo a soli trenta minuti da Bar Harbor, siamo sostanzialmente molto diversi. Bass Harbor è un piccolo villaggio di pescatori e un porto funzionante all'estremità meridionale di Mount Desert Island. Siamo chiamati "Il lato tranquillo dell'isola". C'è molto da fare qui: il faro di Bass Harbor Head, il paese delle meraviglie e Ship Harbor (parte del Parco nazionale di Acadia) sono solo un miglio o due di distanza. A Little Island Marine, il piccolo cantiere navale che condivide la penisola con la casa, l'Island Cruise organizza quotidianamente gite naturalistiche e crociere a pranzo e Richard Stanley Custom Boats ha sempre in corso interessanti progetti di imbarcazioni in legno. I ristoranti sono facilmente raggiungibili a piedi
distanza.

Exceptional rental house, amazing setting. Loved the panoramic views of the bay, the open but cozy living space, and the clean and fresh condition of the house. Although the location is at the southern tip of the island, we were able to easily get to the other parts of the island and Acadia NP. Enjoyed the nearby restaurant that has a patio on the bay. Great communication with our host.

You won’t be disappointed

The Little Island house has magnificent views of the harbor and inlet. The home is clean, the host have provided everything you would need for a stay. There is great communication with the hosts. Lastly, the town has lots of restaurants and shops and is not too far from Bar Harbor. There are many great hikes just minutes away and several ponds for paddle boarding/kayaking. There is something for everyone!!

Breathtaking location

When we walked in we were in awe of the view from all of the windows in the home. It was very clean and beautifully furnished. We were very close to Thurstons for delicious lobster. I would recommend this rental property to everyone.

Paradise on the quiet side

The view of Bass Harbor out our windows and our private deck was beautiful! The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. We are discussing when we can come again!

Just what we wanted!

This property is located in a very quiet neighborhood with the best views of what makes Maine iconic - mountains, water, boats, fog, wildlife. It was simply a spot that was good for the soul. We were torn each day with exploring and hiking or sitting on the deck to enjoy the changing tides and the beautiful sunsets. It was clean, so well stocked, and had hosts who were receptive to our questions. I honestly hate to share information on this little slice of Maine and keep it to ourselves, but share, I will! Make the reservation, and enjoy! Thank you for being a huge part of our ninth stay in Maine. We do love it there!

Acadia National Park Trip

This lovely upstairs cottage was super clean and had all the supplies possible needed for our stay. We enjoyed the water view during high tide. Certainly interesting to see how low the water level is during low tide twice a day, Very quiet on this side of the island. Close to a couple of beautiful trails and the Lighthouse. Easy to communicate with owner.

Fall Vacation

Our stay was amazing. The view was amazing and relaxing. The house was amazing and extremely clean. Well appointed and comfortable, felt like home. It was hard to leave. Loved watching the lobster boats. This is a great place and we can't say enough about it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Little Island Gem

This was our first trip to Mt. Desert Island. We loved that the house was located right at the water's edge. It was very comfortable and we enjoyed watching the activity of the harbor. We also enjoyed a number of sensational sunsets from the deck. We would love to come back and stay longer next time as we felt we only scratched the surface of things to do in Acadia.

Great views- beyond expectations!

This was a really wonderful place to stay in all ways. It was on the quiet side of the island, which we loved. The views from the condo are spectacular, the place was very well cared for and well equipped and was such a comfortable place to be. The owner was really responsive and kind. We took a wonderful nature cruise that was family run by the owners kids and loved it! We had to leave a day early but will definitely try to return!

Little Island House

We couldn't believe this place when we arrived. It was absolutely spotless. So spotless, in fact, that you could eat off the floor! There wasn't a even a mark on the wall! The watercolor of the Little Island House hanging on the dining room wall was beautiful as well. And we couldn't have asked for a better view. Waking up each morning to the sunrise and enjoying the sunset at night was incredible! It was so quiet and serene even with a tourist attraction next door and neighbors below us! I would recommend this place to anyone. Charlene, you outdid yourself! We didn't want to leave but we hope to come back some day. David and Linda McLean

Quiet retreat with spectacular scenery

My husband and I loved our week here in Bass Harbor. The cottage was perfect and met our expectations ten fold. This property is of the nicest VBRO properties we have rented over the years! Peaceful perfection!

Husband and I were both delighted with this lovely place: easy communication with the hosts; wrap-around view of a quaint working harbor with mountains in one direction and islands and the sea at the other; beautifully furnished with a very well equipped kitchen; easy access to Acadia National Park if you can tear yourself away from this little gem! We can't wait to go back again.
