“This charming B&B in Grand Haven was clean and spacious in a lovely residential area surrounded by other old homes of the period. The renovations and updates done to it were incredible and belong in a magazine. It was nice to sit on the front porch and read early in the morning or chat with other guests. However over a month before the trip, I tried to cancel due to an illness/ hospitalization in my extended family. “We had to leave and stay at a different hotel due to the unsanitary conditions at Whitehall Cottages.
The bed had dirt and hair on the sheets and all around the mattress.
There’s no staff on the property and the owner didn’t respond back until later in the evening after we were already checked in to a different hotel.
When I asked for a refund I was told he couldn’t do it because we booked through Expedia…”
