5. Suite principale del Silsoe Cottage B&B

“The description of the property was very descriptive. We booked the master suite which turned out to be a bedroom with a shared bathroom. We were never shown the lounge or the dining room. The hosts were never around. There was no fire alarm in the kitchen. There were no procedures regarding fire etc. The place is very very tired and looked uncared for. We would definitely not recommend this property.”

“When I eventually managed to check in I found that my room smelt funny. The windows were open so I guessed that the smell may have come from the outside. There was no staff at the guest house for me to speak to. When I returned to the room after getting some food I found that the smell was coming from the damp mattress and the smell I believed was urine. I rung the contact number I had, but nobody answered. There was no staff at the venue. It was too late to go anywhere else so I ended up...

“This is one room in a two bed one bath apartment with a small kitchen. You’ll potentially share the space with one other/couple. I had the place to myself this fall. Front bedroom is cozy and cheerful. Small space heater keeps it extra toasty! Nice to have a kitchen to store food in fridge and heat it up. Kitchen is lightly stocked with some teas, breads, fruit…There’s also a washer in the kitchen, quite handy. Also a dryer out back but couldn’t quite figure that out with Barry. My clothes...

“We arrived early before the check in time but were made to feel welcome, parking was difficult to find but once we were told where to go all was OK and there was ample parking. Breakfast was well cooked and ample and the hosts were very friendly, We liked having the toaster on the table, never seen this before and we have stayed in lots of places over the years.
