The rental must be returned as clean as you found it, or take the cleaning option at 60€.

Bégadan is a town located in the heart of the Médoc. This very old wine-growing commune with many castles and a cooperative winemaking cellar is located between the vineyard and the Gironde estuary. The commune covers about 900 hectares of vines. The inhabitants of Bégadan, 923 in number, are called Bégadanais and Bégadanaises. You will discover the twelfth century church (restored in the nineteenth century) whose apse was classified as a Historic Monument in 1862. Continuing, you will discover the Port of By, a small port that reminds us of its importance until 1889 when the activities of the estuary were divided between fishing and trade, in particular the wine trade which was carried out until 1939 with boats called "gabarres".

What to see, what to do:

Very many vineyards (sixty Grands Crus Classés 1855) including some world-famous. For the most famous, reservation is essential. The famous Wine Route which stretches for 80 km, along the authentic D2 departmental road, which starts in Saint-Estèphe, 17 km away.

Cordouan lighthouse, king of lighthouses and lighthouse of kings, off the coast of Port Médoc in Verdon-sur-Mer, 37 km away. Listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is the only French lighthouse at sea with keepers, the oldest still in operation and the only one in the world open to visitors. Access to the site is subject to tide times and coefficients that vary daily, it is important to check the departure times before your visit.

In summer, from the end of June, exhibitors go out to the market square to find local craftsmen, tasting stands, clothes and souvenirs. On weekends, the market closes at 2 p.m. to make the most of it!
The Saint Vivien de Médoc Market, a real institution, is an essential meeting place for locals and holidaymakers.
