“Really enjoyed our stay at Ashbys. Steve and Mubi were warm, welcoming and helpful and the room and public spaces (lounge / games room, kitchen, bar area) were comfortable and well equipped. It was clear that a lot of thought has been given to making Ashbys a unique place to stay: welcoming, relaxing and fun. A great location too for the bars, seafront and Southsea attractions! Our bathroom window needed a blind - more for the neighbours than anything! - and the bedroom a second bedside table...

“A really lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Having kitchen facilities to use is a bonus although we didn’t use them. The shower wasn’t great (rain head only) and I really struggled to work it. It would also be great to have a mirror in the bedroom area for getting ready as the only mirror was in the bathroom. ”

“The hotel was exceptional. Location was fantastic - very near to bus stop, walking distance to the beach, a convenience store is nearby, there is a lovely restaurant within walking distance. The hotel itself was absolutely lovely - clean, cosy, comfortable. Just perfect. Wendy & Steve was the best. Would definitely come back. If anything, just one thing to be aware of - you need to up one flight of stairs to get to the bedrooms.”

“Room was a little tired but overall okay. Minor issues like ripped wallpaper etc. My only issue was the fact the latch was slightly damaged on the inside so I had no way to properly lock the door. I had to put the chain on and shove a doorstop under the door, as a solo female traveller this made me a little uncomfortable. Walls are very thin so be aware if you’re a light sleeper. Chaston Manor Hotel is very comfortable, superb service at check in, high level of cleanliness and the highlight - a superb breakfast (just what you need to get started). Very well located and will highly recommend it.”
