  • The Lil' Cowboy Casita is a cozy 1 bedroom cottage with AC and Heat, and all sorts of Cowboy amenities and rustic furnishings. It includes a TV, Sofa with Chase Lounge, Dining room table, full Kitchen and Full bathroom! Cute and Cozy. Amazing Mountain views. Added on laundry facility in rear with stackable washer/dryer. Private fenced yard and private gate that you can lock to keep your yard private and pets in! Vast open country of state land with trails/ paths a block away to go dune buggy riding, quads, motorbikes, 4 wheelin or anything else including hunting or shooting. Nearby Kartchner Caverns, Tomstone, Bisbee and Tucson all about a half hour away. Come check it out and forget about the city a while!

A nice quiet place with ac to cool off. Quick drive to the local parks and it was great to have a fenced in yard for my dogs.

Patrick was vriendelijk en antwoordde snel. Locatie was niet precies wat ik had verwacht. Casita was redelijk schoon, behalve de koelkast en vriezer. Ik miste wel een bowl voor mijn ontbijtcereal. Bestek was zeer spaarzaam aanwezig. Geen glazen om iets uit te drinken, alleen mokken(sommige nog vies van binnen).

The property suited me well for a one night stay. The bedroom was quite hot, so I had to sleep in the living room on the couch. We’re also dead bugs in the night stand in bedroom, and kitchen could be a bit better stocked.

We booked this property because it advertised air conditioning, which is especially important in Arizona. The property was somewhat clean, and we appreciated being allowed to check in early. Unfortunately, our stay was significantly impacted by cooling issues. After we checked in, we were asked to leave for approximately five hours so an AC unit could be installed. When we returned, the issue was not resolved. The small wall-mounted AC unit only cooled the sitting area, while the rest of the house remained uncomfortably hot. The home retained a lot of heat, and the bedroom was too warm for sleeping. My wife is pregnant, and we were forced to sleep on the couch near the AC unit. By 6:00 a.m. the next morning, she was not feeling well due to the heat, so we left early and drove home. Afterward, the host claimed we were supposed to call or text him so the installation could be completed. However, no phone number was provided, and I had already sent mine through Expedia messages. The host later stated the AC was installed after we had already left. There were also frequent loud banging noises from a neighboring property under construction, and the walls seemed thin enough to hear outside activity easily. Overall, the property did not provide the comfortable, air-conditioned stay that was advertised, and we were disappointed with both the condition of the property and the communication regarding the AC issue.

Quiet Mescal/Benson Casita

Quiet little casita near Benson. Convenient to Benson, Sonoita and the caverns in the area. Big stove and refrigerator with icemaker but very limited dishes and cookware. Bring a can opener and wine bottle opener. Great place to gaze at the stars with a nice glass of wine. Bathroom was clean but quiet small and tuff to maneuver if you have mobility issues. Bed was very comfortable but I would recommend bringing your own pillows because of the odor from the pillows on the bed is unpleasant. I would also recommended extra blankets because even with the heater set at 86, it was chilly in the bedroom at night.The yard is nice but unfortunately the gate is quite heavy to lift and carry in order to secure the yard. The hosts are very nice. There are no garbage bins on the property but the owners came to pick it up when asked. The TV has streaming services and wifi worked well. It is great to have a place where you can stay with your furry companions.

Would stay again but...

My time at the Cowboy Casita was very good for the price, but there were some issues. Here's my breakdown:PROS: - Location! Beautiful dark sky, quiet neighborhood, close to everything we wanted to see (Saguaro, Chriricahua & Kartchner Caverns), and a store right down the road.-Instant hot water in the shower and sink-Several mirrors in the house which is a big thing I often find lacking in other rentals. -Nice TV and good streaming quality. -The AC / Heater worked well and there were spare fans in the house. CONS: -The carpet in the living room area had a bunch of bull thorns. Probably about 20. We took off our shoes first thing and stepped on a few before I did a full sweep of the house. -No bowls? Very awkward to make oatmeal in cups. We went out to Dollar General the next morning and bought some to use. More dishes and utensils are definitely needed. If you’re going to be cooking, I suggest bringing everything you need. -I had messaged the owner about how to check in and never got a response. I had to guess that the keys were in the mailbox and the correct wifi name. -The home is advertised as able to sleep 4 and that the couch is a full futon when it is NOT. It is a piece of a sectional that does not fold out. The sofa side cushions slip off while sleeping on it since the end of the sectional is missing. I’m only 5’4 but slept pretty uncomfortably on it. 2 people would not fit. Also, there were no sheets for the sofa.
