“We stayed in a self catering cottage. The accommodation had everything we needed, lovely bath and fireplace. It is very cold in Tulbagh in mid-winter, but the bed had cosy blankets. This is a working farm, which was fun to explore with my young son. He enjoyed playing with the farm dogs!”

“Was not quite what I expected. Located literally in a mountain pass with traffic driving past. The room doesnt have a fridge. It has a cooler but what good is that if you want to pack some items of your own to stay properly cold. You are given a kitchen sink in your room. A microwave would also be a good option. For what you pay to stay, it is not worth it. The restaurant has a limited menu. The location is remote and far from any shops. There is a Spar in Citrusdal, a 10 minute drive away....

Delicious breakfasts by Carol and Dorothy and overall a guest house in Tulbach that is highly recommended in view of its wonderful atmosphere, great location, friendly service and special "arty" ambience! “Alabaster Box certainly is doing something right! Besides the home being immaculately kept, the service is top notch. Upon entering my room I was met with the most beautiful scent of sandalwood. A small fridge, and kettle were available for my snacks and tea. The shower was absolutely amazing, and much needed after a long car ride! The balcony even had views of the lagoon. There’s a serene koi pond in the back, and pool as well. Most of all, I felt safe as a solo female. May God bless this...
