Insieme a mio marito e alla mia famiglia, vi invito a condividere la bellezza della nostra casa e dei cottage a Mount Desert Island, la casa del Parco nazionale di Acadia.

Siamo situati nel villaggio costiero di West Tremont, sul lato occidentale di Mount Desert Island. È possibile raggiungere le parti del parco in 10 minuti e Bar Harbor in circa 30 minuti.

The Aldernest Cottage è adiacente alla nostra casa con vista sulla baia di Blue Hill. La costa rocciosa del Maine è a pochi passi attraverso il prato. Puoi prendere il caffè la mattina seduto sugli scogli mentre ti godi il nostro ambiente privato e tranquillo. La sera godrai dei meravigliosi tramonti che probabilmente ti toglieranno il respiro.

L'Aldernest Den (appartamento al piano inferiore) ha due camere da letto, una con un letto matrimoniale e una con due gemelli. C'è una sala da pranzo / soggiorno, cucina completamente attrezzata e un bagno con lavatrice / asciugatrice. Sì, abbiamo Internet wireless. La novità di quest'anno è una televisione ad alta definizione con Roku.

1) Affittiamo entro la settimana da sabato a sabato.
2) Il nostro cottage è senza animali domestici. Abbiamo scoperto che molti inquilini di ritorno sono allergici agli animali domestici, quindi questa è una "politica ferma", senza eccezioni, per favore
3) Siamo in grado di ospitare comodamente quattro persone con due camere da letto, una con un letto matrimoniale e l'altra con due gemelli. Contiamo i bambini, compresi i bambini, come parte dell'occupazione. Nessuna eccezione, per favore.
4) Il nostro cottage è senza fumo. Non è permesso fumare nei locali.

Trip to Acadia

The cottage is somewhat tight quarters for 3 adult women. While it met our needs, the bathroom, especially the shower, is a bit small. The beds were all comfortable and there was sufficient closet space. We were very fortunate with great weather and so we spent very little time in the cottage. The living room is not really comfortable for lounging but that was not an issue for us. All points of interest were a reasonable drive — generally 10-40 minutes.

My second stay at Aldernest

I love the location and the space. Last year I stayed here in August with two friends, this year in June with a daughter and granddaughter. We love the trails, the mountains and the ocean. Kathleen is a wonderful host and the trail to the ocean is short and we sat out there at the end of the day. Very clean house and great beds.

Amazing Quietside Getaway

Out of all of our places to stay while visiting Acadia, this was by far our favorite. The accommodations and amenities were clean, up to date and well equipped. With a SHORT walk to the private shoreline, it was the perfect place to relax, getaway while still having easy access to everything Acadia has to offer. The only issue we had was the week went by too fast!

Perfect little cabin- 100% recommend

We loved our stay at the Aldernest Den. The cabin was easy to find. It is located in a peaceful neighbourhood, and is at a couple minutes walk from the beach. We were travelling with little kids and Kathleen was a very accommodating and gracious host. She was always quick to respond to messages and even came in person at the time of our check in. The cabin decor is beautiful. It was clean and super cozy. It had everything we needed. It is about 45 minutes away from Acadia and less than 10 minutes from Bass harbour lighthouse. We would stay again.

Great spot!

The apartment was very clean and quiet and in an excellent location right near a lot of entrance points to Acadia. It was only about 20-30 mins to Bar Harbor too! Kathleen was so helpful, incredibly nice and easy to get in contact with. I would definitely stay here again.

Fall visit with friends to Acadia

We had a very nice stay. It is a longer drive to the park and Bar Harbor from the quiet side of the island but also very peaceful and less crowded. Accommodations were perfect for meeting up with friends from another state to enjoy catching up and sharing a visit to Acadia.

great location

The location on the "quiet side" of the island and on the ocean was perfect for us. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The rooms were not big, but perfect for 3 adults, who spent our days hiking and climbing. We ate all breakfasts and several diners there and the washer and dryer were easy to use. Kathleen was great and showed us the basics. I will stay there again.

Cozy cottage

I and my children (ages 12, 18, and 20) had a wonderful stay at the Aldernest Den. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, and convenient to all points in Acadia National Park. Lovely, private grounds, and the 2-minute walk to the stunning rocky shoreline is well worth it. Kathleen was an excellent host. We would love to visit again.

Excellent apartment on the quietside for 4

Very nice owners. Very easy to rent. We were a family of 4 with older teens and this property was perfect for us. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved having laundry on-site.

Week in Acadia

My husband and daughter and I came for a week in Acadia. The location was perfect for visiting the park. We booked last minute due to a change in plans. The house had everything we needed and was clean. Loved walking down to the water to catch the sunset after a day of hiking!

Nice place.

We enjoyed our stay at Aldernest. 1/2 hr from the downtown Bar Harbor area, so not in the thick of things but not too far away. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. We could have used a few more washcloths and hand towels for a ‘sleeps 4 people’, but we managed. I think the 6 pm check in time and a 9 am check out time is somewhat extreme, but again, we managed. Beautiful seating area down by the water, very quiet, be forewarned, bring bug spray!

Enjoyable stay

We are so happy that we chose to stay near Southwest Harbor instead of the more congested Bar Harbor area! Aldernest is a cozy and welcoming cottage. Beds were comfortable; kitchen was well equipped. We were a bit challenged by the Roku TV, but we are older and not tech savvy. Kathleen was very gracious when we accidentally locked the key in the unit and trusted us with her spare for the rest of our stay. There were only two things that made me give this a 4 star rating rather than 5. First, in this time of pandemic, we would have liked to have had a dishwasher. I rewashed all dishes, glassware, etc. before using due to not knowing how thoroughly they were washed by the previous guest. Second, we were disappointed not to be able to sit by the water because of the swarms of mosquitos that surrounded us each time we stepped outside the door. Of course this is nothing anyone can control, but be aware that at this time of year, the beach may not be accessible.

Awesome place to stay!

We loved staying here as it allowed us to stay on Mount Desert Island without being right in the middle of all the action. This place was beautiful with ocean access that had a great view of the sunset. The Aldernest was cozy and felt like home away from home.

Long weekend Acadia trip

We really enjoyed our trip to Acadia and the accommodations. It was great to have the kitchen as well as the beach access. Very comfortable cottage for a family of 4.
