Un dolce cottage nella migliore posizione di sempre !!!
Cottage sul lungomare sulla baia riparata - rocce, sabbia, vetro del mare! Splendide vedute della costa rocciosa dal ponte aperto e salotto con enormi finestre! Guarda le Lobster Boats entrare nella baia per curare le loro trappole! Il meglio dei due mondi: accanto a Short Beach più una breve passeggiata per Long Public Beach per fare surf o correre con il mare ai piedi e il vento tra i capelli! Acqua in ogni direzione.

Carattere: deliziose vecchie finestre e oggetti d'antiquariato a losanghe.

Le bellissime spiagge di sabbia bianca di Biddeford offrono una vacanza all'insegna del relax a cui vorrai tornare ogni estate - e questo cottage offre il posto perfetto. Goditi l'acqua frizzante e le onde che si infrangono sugli scogli, comodamente dal tuo salotto o ponte. Guadare nelle acque riparate sulla piccola spiaggia a pochi passi di distanza o passeggiare per saltare tra le onde sulla spiaggia lunga 3 miglia appena sopra la collina - Fortunes Rocks è nota per le sue spiagge e i surfisti visitano tutto l'anno !

La piccola spiaggia tranquilla e la spiaggia pubblica sono diverse quanto la notte e il giorno, e questa casa è una delle poche che offre il meglio di entrambi.

Passeggia nel cortile e goditi i fiori, quindi sali sulla spiaggia per esplorare le piscine rocciose sul bordo del mare. Siediti sulla spiaggia con la leggera brezza e la sabbia tra le dita dei piedi: i bambini possono fare castelli di sabbia nella fresca aria salata.

La città è a pochi minuti di distanza, dove è possibile scoprire che i quartieri storici di Biddeford e Saco offrono piacevoli passeggiate. Il nuovo sviluppo ha portato i caffè (incluso il pane Panera!) e ristoranti etnici. I mulini sono stati trasformati da artigiani, falegnami e molte piccole imprese nei nuovi spazi loft sull'isola nel fiume Saco. Gli appassionati di storia e architettura apprezzeranno il tour a piedi autoguidato “Museum on the Streets”. Le viste panoramiche sul fiume possono essere godute da sentieri, un gazebo e panchine.

Funtown, aquaboggin e centri commerciali si trovano nelle vicinanze: a nord, c'è Old Orchard (15 minuti), Portland (mezz'ora) e il negozio LL Bean di Freeport appena oltre. A sud, Boston è un'ora e mezza, Kennebunkport a soli 15 minuti e lo shopping nei centri commerciali di Kittery in mezzo.

Il paradiso dei barcaioli: c'è un varo sul fiume Saco; noleggio di kayak per il fiume / saline a nord / oceano! Ci sono aragoste, pescherecci, barche per osservare le balene!

Gli artisti dipingono isole e fari a Biddeford Pool e visitano le gallerie da Perkins Cove a Kennebunkport.

I naturalisti possono passeggiare sulla spiaggia, le saline, i boschi e i campi, osservando gli uccelli, la tamia, la marmotta, il castoro, la volpe, il tacchino selvatico, il cervo, l'alce, ... Bigfoot? !!? Bene, cos'è un'estate senza una piccola avventura? Il Maine è Vacationland e il 'Palace' a Fortunes Rocks ha la posizione migliore di tutti.

Vicino a negozi, arte, teatro, oggetti d'antiquariato, vendita di libri, osservazione delle balene, pesca, kayak, aragosta!

Perfetto per riposare e ringiovanire nell'aria salata!

Come arrivare: oltre a guidare o volare a Boston (BOS) o Porland (PWM), potresti persino venire in treno! La nuova stazione Amtrak, inaugurata nel 2009, si distingue per essere la prima stazione ferroviaria di design verde negli Stati Uniti, con una turbina eolica per elettricità, sistemi di riscaldamento e raffreddamento geotermici e un tetto realizzato con bottiglie di soda riciclate.

So much potential in this Diamond in the rough. As a lover of old homes, the bones are great, but needs a lot of TLC. Furniture stained/ worn and outdoor furniture rusted and dysfunctional / towels smell like washer needs to be cleaned but location , Suzanne, the screened porches all divine:-) Kitchen is well stocked with pans/ pots and appointed with odds and ends like a college dorm thrift store. For 830 for three nights, maybe splurge on a really nice couch cover and nice chairs:-)

Cute little cottage, perfect size for two adults without children. It was quiet and felt private yet not remote (people walked by, etc.). Bedrooms are very small so we slept in one and kept our clothes/got dressed in the other. Loved the screened in porch with the garden view as an option to the open deck on the ocean side, it was a nice place to eat meals and play games. Great view of the water, rocks with the birds, tide coming and going on the small beach ... all 'right there'!

We had a few cleanliness issues when we arrived. We found mouse droppings throughout the cottage. We found many dirty dishes, glasses, and utensils dirty. Coffee area had dried coffee on counter. We had to remove the couch cover due to dog hair all over it. Suzanne was extremely good about communicating with us and addressed our issue regarding the mice. A property manager came over and fixed a screen door and put mice traps out. Prior to our visit, Suzanne provided us with lots of information regarding Biddeford and attractions. This cottage is very rustic and could use a few upgrades/TLC. Beds/mattress are very old. It may be time for new ones. The cottage is cute, and in a great location.

Suzanne is a wonderful host! Her cottage is perfectly located for people like us who's looking for tranquility and the proximity of everything. The living room is incredible because of the ocean view and the little private beach is so cute. Hope to meet you next year!

Beautiful location, you can hear the surf and see a a rocky section of the cove from the living room. The accommodations are basic and the cottage is small - it was perfect for two adults and two small dogs. The owner is very responsive and concerns are dealt with promptly. Would definitely return.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this small, comfortable cottage close to Fortunes Rocks Beach, beautiful walking trails, and charming coastal towns. The cottage was clean and well-equipped and the owner very responsive when we had a question. Would highly recommend!

I love the location of this house and property. It's got it's own private beach and a great view of the ocean. It's close to town and it's very easy to get to. It's charming with old windows and doors. Bedroom are small but quaint with great huge windows that open in. It's a true beach house with funky furniture that's comfortable . It's a 5 minute walk to Fortunes Rocks Beach and under 10 minutes to Goose Rocks Beach. Cape Porpoise has all of the amenities that you need and it's quiet enough here to spend the whole day reading. I'm already booked for next year!

In the case of this rental, the pictures do not tell the story. First, the view. There are two properties in the same yard, so the view from this cottage is mostly blocked by the 2-story house in front of it. Most of the photos on the site (showing ocean view) were clearly taken from the front house/yard. Next, the condition and furnishings. The screens are ripped, the beds are rickety with very thin mattresses, and every wall and corner of the cottage is crammed with furniture that looks like the stuff people put out at the roadside with a "free" sign and stays there unclaimed until the junkman comes. Every ugly detail proclaims, "I do not care about this property. I can charge a lot of money (including a surcharge to have any sheets, towels, or even a dishcloth!), and people are gullible enough to pay it." Don't be gulled--stay somewhere else.

Nice cottage in a quiet spot with a good view of the water. The inclusion of the SmartTV has nice touch, even though I had my laptop. Only blemish was that the rooms needed some dusting of spiderwebs and had to share the bathroom with a few of the crawlers.

I loved the location of the cottage. It was a little more vintage than I had expected but once we settled in it was fantastic. The small private beach was an amazing place to have a cup of coffee. I loved that I could take my poodles for a walk each morning on the long sandy beach 10 minutes away. The deck overlooking the private beach was beautiful and very relaxing. Tom and I had a wonderful time exploring the area and we are coming back. Suzanne is a great host and very accommodating.

Just. Lovely. This is an adorable older cottage, perfect for a couple or solo traveler like me with a dog. The property can sleep up to 4, but just from my experience trying to navigate around my pup who always wanted to lay down in front of the fridge or in the middle of the path to the living room :) I think you’ll have a better time with a smaller group. As it’s an older cottage it does have it’s quirks, but they just add to the charm. Cannot beat the location — from short walks to Fortune’s Rocks beach to watch the sunrise or relax before the daytime beachgoers arrive to spending quality time searching for sea glass and the perfect round stones on your little beach… and even just relaxing on the porch or in the sitting room with the big screen door open. This place “has it all.” Friendly neighbors and vacationers abound, short drives to anywhere you might want to go… but do you really want to leave? I’ve probably said too much so please disregard this review and stay away so that I can go back.
