    Situato in un ambiente splendido con vista ininterrotta sulla campagna circostante, il River Cottage è un'incantevole casa vacanze indipendente con angolo cottura. Situato in posizione idilliaca per coloro che cercano un rifugio tranquillo e rurale, circondato da uno scenario magnifico, vicino alla frazione di Enochdhu, nel cuore del Perthshire. Un tempo parte del Kindrogan Hunting Estate, il cottage è costruito su un "terreno politico" ed è rinomato per la sua straordinaria campagna, la natura selvaggia e la posizione del cielo scuro. Ci sono un'abbondanza di piste ciclabili e pedonali dalla porta principale e il sentiero di Cateran è nelle vicinanze, così come Glenshee, la più grande area sciistica della Scozia. Dopo aver esplorato la zona, gli ospiti possono rilassarsi sulla terrazza con un bicchiere di vino e vedere i cervi che bevono dal fiume, l'abbondanza di uccelli e gli scoiattoli rossi sono visitatori frequenti. We spent an amazing four nights at River Cottage and had the bonus of excellent weather. The cottage is very well equipped with all the facilities you need including central heating, wood-burner, Wifi, Sky TV and comfortable furnishings. The view over the river is great, and wildlife is never far away, including an elusive red squirrel and a variety of birds.Super walks can be done right from the door and are signposted from the start, including the Cateran Way.Maureen was available next door if needed and was most helpful.

A cosy, well equipped cottage on a lovely riverside setting where birdlife and wildlife abound. Red squirrels and a pine martin were regular visitors on the decking by the door of the cottage.There are various walks which start from the front door of the cottage which we took advantage of as well as those in the nearby Glenshee area.On one evening when we decided not to cook for ourselves we took advantage of the availability to have Maureen, the owner of the cottage to cook for us and the meal was delicious.All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and we fully intend to make a return visit soon.

A fabulous cottage in an amazing location. Cottage clean and had everything we needed. Views of river and wildlife fantastic. Nuts and bird food provided which was a real treat.Lovely walks from cottage especially the evening at sunset.Maureen is a great host and only too happy to help if needed. Leaves just started to change but would love to return when in full autumnal colours.

Wonderful cottage in perfect location

We truly enjoyed our stay in this quiet little cottage by the river. It was warm and cosy, had everything we needed to make our visit comfortable. We sat out on the deck by the river in the mornings and after a day out. We saw kingfisher, the red squirrel and countless birds and wildlife. Sadly not the Otter or Pine Martin!It was great to be away from towns and traffic, but close enough for convenience. So many fantastic walks from the door or close by and beautiful scenery everywhere. A light coating of snow at the end of the trip added to the enchantment. A lovely location, a lovely cottage.

A beautiful location, a lovely cottage and a wonderful visit. The cottage was newly decorated, very clean and we had a brilliant time in this lovely part of the world, made all the better for staying in this great little cottage. About 20mins drive from Pitlochry across a stunning moor, the cottage has a brilliant riverside location and is ideal for a family of 3 or 4. We had a really lovely week at River Cottage in October and it comes highly recommended! The location right by the river was fabulous and very relaxing, and we saw red squirrels every day which kept us entertained. The day we arrived it was after 9pm and the cottage was very warm and cosy with chocolate muffins waiting for us! Andy our host was very welcoming and keen to check we had everything we needed. We were particularly impressed with finding some groceries in the cottage to start us off. The cottage is very well placed to drive north, south, east or west for mountain walking or to see the sights. All in all we had a great time and I'm sure we will be back :-).

If its complete peace and quiet, off the beaten track, in a lovely part of Perthshire then River Cottage is for you. Numerous walks are on the doorstep, including to the Spittal of Glenshee and you can join the Cateran Trail. The tiny but lovely village of Kirkmichael is 4 miles away where you'll find the local pub and grocery store, and the natives are friendly too. River Cottage is charming and fully equipped with everything you could need. Andy, the owner is really friendly and helpful. Andy provided a welcome pack of goodies including his homemade plumb jam, which was delish!

River Cottage was set in beautiful surroundings with a river at the rear and forests in the front making it a peaceful place for our weeks stay. The wildlife was amazing as you could sit on the back deck and watch deer crossing the river in the evening, birds feeding all day and the highlight was the always present Red Squirrels enjoying some of the peanuts that we placed out for them. On arrival we were met by a welcome pack including some fresh muffins that were very nice. The local pub in Kirkmichael has good meals and pints, as well as a local store. The town of Pitlochry is only 30 mins away for more shopping and activities. Our host was brilliant and full of ideas for activities and day drives. Thanks very much and if we have the chance we will visit again.

A great two weeks of watching the red squirrels eat, fight and chase each other about.

A great two weeks of watching the red squirrels eat, fight and chase each other about. One even got inside the peanut box when it got too wet for comfort outside and sat quite happily eating all the peanuts ( KirkMichael village shop is the place to get your peanuts). If you want a photo of the deer you have to be quick, as they do not hang around waiting for you to grab a camera or phone. Great scenery out and about, good places to eat in the surrounding area. Andy is a great host and left us goodies to have with a cup of tea when we arrived. What ever the weather you will never get tired of watching the river and its residents.
