Fall Mini Vacation

The Lake View house was great. The view from the porch is beautiful! The location is great too, not to far from town but too close. The deer in the yard were cool when we arrived. I would recommend renting this place if you want to see the mountains, hike, go to waterfalls or just relax.

Wonderful fall vacation!!

I stayed here for 5 days/4 nights with my adult sons and it was absolutely wonderful! Bruce and Catherine couldn't have been better hosts. They were available when needed, even helped guide us in when we arrived later than expected in the dark, but also gave us ample privacy to enjoy our time there. They accommodated a last minute reservation change and left the most lovely welcome gifts, even fresh baked blueberry muffins one day, yum! The cottage is beautifully appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay and extra touches that make it memorable. The property has a pretty steep incline but it's manageable without 4 wheel drive and you get used to it after a day or so. The walk down to the lake is beautiful and peaceful. We absolutely loved our time at Lake Hill Cottage and will be back! Thank you Bruce and Catherine for your hospitality and sharing your lovely home with us.

Peaceful Fall Stay

My son and I stayed three nights/four days and enjoyed every minute here. Comfortable beds, couches, deck chairs, porch and fire pit chairs. There wasn’t a space we didn’t enjoy. Good WiFi, plenty of channels and big TV to catch football games , kitchen has what you need to make meals. Used the charcoal grill twice, fire pit once and everything was provided to do it. Bruce and Catherine we lovely hosts and I would return again in a heartbeat.

Refuge While Doing Home Improvements

My wife and I needed a place to stay (with Bubba our cat) while our floors were refinished. We spent 6 days in the cozy, quiet apartment below Catherine and Bruce's A-Frame home. We found the location easily, parking was near the door. It offered a nice view of the lake across the street. The apartment was clean, spacious and nicely set up. Before long we were settled in. We had brought a box of DVDs to watch, anticipating rainy weather, but their subscription allowed us to binge on Netflix while Bubba kept the sofa warm. The well equipped compact kitchen came in handy, and Catherine recommended several good restaurants in nearby Blairsville. (Rib Country was a favorite; the ribs and smoked turkey were super.) Blairsville's a pretty town and there are wineries nearby, though we didn't visit them. December weather meant little chance to do much outdoors, but our stay gave us the break we needed while the refinishing was completed. We chose well, and would recommend this comfortable and affordable property

Perfectly Private and Relaxing

The Macafees were the perfect combination of available to help and respectful of our privacy. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, to include replacing a slightly damp fire pit with a dry one and providing us with some extra wood so we would have less smoke sitting by the fire. The house was well appointed and cozy with treats and comforts hidden throughout. It felt like coming home after spending the day trekking about to see the area’s many interesting hiking spots, lakes, and vineyards. The view is wonderful and our pup was happy to have a nice yard to run around in while we sat for hours drinking coffee by the fire. We will be back!

Lake in the Mountains

VRBO is the only way to go for me. Always a good experience and this was no different. Good people that: 1. Want to accommodate their guest. 2. Make a lil money doing it. Perfect plan in my opinion and it always works to my advantage. Again no different here. So I had a great stay and it was just as I had budgeted. No surprises. The host was very hospitable. Had everything we needed and a few nice surprises we did not expect. We will absolutely use them again when we are in that neck of the woods. For us it was the perfect location and very easy to get to several hiking trails and Dams. Also it’s very near Crane Creek Vineyards. A place I highly recommend going to. Especially if there’s live music. The wine is excellent and the atmosphere is so laid back. Thanks for a great time guys. See ya soon.

Lake hill was a very quiet relaxing place to stay!

Catherine was amazing to work with, my stY was supposed to be in March and due to Covid , we mutually decided to delay my trip Catherine was very flexible with times and offered refunds immediately. I chose to postpone and was delighted when I got in the house! The setting is lovely, the Lake was beautiful, and outfitted with Kayaks! Thank you Catherine for a lovely experience!

So much potential...

My husband and I and another couple booked the cabin from 2/14-2/17. The renting process was seamless and Catherine was very nice. I have to admit I was skeptical when we pulled up because the outside of the house is pretty dated and needs work and the landscaping hasn’t been touched so I felt like I was arriving to a house in a sketchy neighborhood but the inside of the home was comfortable and decorated nicely. I looked forward to coffee on the porch in the morning sitting and watching the view of the lake when lo’ and behold, there was a dilapidated storage area on the right side of the house that completely ruined it for me. I’m assuming it belongs to the owners; it was pretty gross to look at all weekend. There were supplies scattered everyone all of which was supposedly covered under a thick tarp shelter of sorts. Even a dirty deflated raft in plain view. I was quite surprised at how bad this area was kept and so close to the house. You can’t see it in the pictures but it’s there and ruins the view from the porch. If you have a storage area, why are these things sprawled out in front? I’m from the city so we were going for a nice quiet weekend and to mainly enjoy the view . We’ve stayed in Blue Ridge before and thought maybe the lake would be a nice change from the mountains. Sadly it was not. Catherine, please clean this area and give some love to the outside of your home. Or if the storage space does not belong to you, complain to whomever is responsible for it.

Outstanding Lake Chalet!!!!

Our time at the Lake Property was Fantastic!!!! The home is tastefully done and well equipped. The views out the wall of windows of the lake are breathtaking! We look forward to going back in the warmer weather to use the lake! Property is stunning and will not disappoint!!!!

Lake house Bliss

Lake Hill is a Happy Place!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here very much! The decor is so cheerful that you have to be happy!! It is also incredibly clean. We were checked on by email to make sure things were good! A+ A frame

We stayed for six nights in early October and throroughly enjoyed the entire experience. We visit Blairsville at least once a year and have previously stayed in cabin style properties, all of which have been very nice also. For us, we enjoyed the light, bright decor at the Lakehill house. There was more than enough space for two, inside and outdoor spaces included. The location was convenient to town and hiking. We appreciated (and used) the well stocked kitchen and laundry room. The location was good for evening walks in the surrounding neighborhood. We would like to return in the summer with our grandchildren.

Awesome Lake house and owner.

We had 15 days scheduled at this awesome lake house for our retirement vacation and I’m so thankful we did. Catherine, the owner is great to work with and has provided a very relaxing place with everything we needed. Very comfortable sofa and loveseat and the bed we used was awesome. The house was spotless. Jane, the housekeeper, does a great job and we appreciated that very much. Vacation wasn’t so great with having a kidney stone and having surgery so far from home, but I’m very thankful we had a great place like LakeHill to enjoy and while I regained my strength. We loved the view and the porches with comfortable furnishings and a swing. There were lots of deer, turkeys and wildlife to enjoy. We ended up leaving two days early due to my Mom’s death, but would highly recommend LakeHill Lake house to others.

Perfect Stay!!

Lake Hill cottage was such an amazing place to stay. My husband and I were there to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary and it was a perfect trip. I have no doubt that we will be returning to Lake Hill Cottage. The house was wonderful and exceeded all expectations. Not only was the place beautiful, it was also super clean and in a perfect location. Every day we enjoyed floating in the lake from the swimming dock and using the 2 kayaks. The views are spectacular. Catherine was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was responsive and very helpful with all of our questions. We decided to extend our stay last minute and she was so quick to respond to us about the availability of the place. There are a number of fun things to do in the area as well. In the time we were there we rented a pontoon boat for the day, went white water rafting, visited the cute town of blairsville. Michaelee's Italian Life Caffe had fantastic italian food and its BYOB!! There is a wine shop next door that had a wonderful selection of wines. We also check out a near by winery called Crane Creek Vineyards and was blown away. The wine was excellent, the owners were friendly and the scenery was beautiful.

Beautiful Lakehouse

We loved staying at LakeHill. It was a beautiful, light filled home with windows across the front overlooking the lake with beautiful views. The decor is my personal favorite, kind of farmhouse chic. Super clean and very comfortable beds. The kids loved the playroom downstairs and the large front yard and fire pit. We went out on the kayaks and swam off the dock. There were antique stores everywhere and my husband played lots of golf. Even the restaurants were terrific. The owner was so nice, left us some treats. It was a vacation we will always remember, can’t wait to go back.

Wonderfully stocked cabin!

Wonderful stay in a wonderful house! We brought loads of food and cooked a lot, but never wanted for any kitchen utensil. I believe this was the best stocked rental house I've ever been in! Clean house and comfortable beds and sitting areas. The outside sitting areas were comfy as well. The only small hurdle was the walk to and from the lake. We were fine, but I could see where a physically challenged person would have trouble. Although, we did see some steps and can see how those would be helpful. The two kayaks were a great treat! we had fun and got a little workout in the mornings :) We brought life jackets, the blow up kind. Walmart was about 15 minutes away, so close enough if you need some things. The hiking trails are amazing up there. Lots of waterfalls! I think we did 4 trails to 5 waterfalls in 1 day! Thanks Catherine for the great stay!

Peaceful end of summer trip!!

The lake house was absolutely perfect for my family of four! Each college age child had their own room and plenty of space to spread out. The decor was so relaxing - and the access to the lake was great! We will definitely be coming back!!

Peaceful acres

Quiet beautiful setting. Great place to relax and kick back. Very good golf at a very reasonable price close by. Marina within five minutes. Easy access to the cities of Bkue Ridge, Blairsville, Murphy, Yiung Harris, Helen and Hiawassee.

Adorable place to relax!

We had an amazing stay and the property owner was incredibly responsive and helpful. They’ve thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and even the neighbors are super nice. Lake access for swimming is great and kids had an awesome time jumping off the dock. The porch was so inviting we could have sat out there the whole stay! Would definitely stay there again and recommend highly!

Perfect summer

We had a wonderful experience at the lakehouse. Catherine was pleasant to work with. Upon arrival Catherine has left some cupcakes for my girls and a bottle of wine for me. The house was very easy to find and what a great view of the lake. The kayak’s were wonderful to use and the girls loved jumping in the lake at the end of a long day going to horse camp. All the extras at the house from the grill and charcoal, coffee and creamers even though I brought my own it was great to know it was there. The laundry detergent was great to have as well. That is one of Those things I always forget to pack and hate buying so it was great the lake house provided that. The house is a perfect place to take in the beautiful views. The beds were comfort and couches comfortable. We will definitely be back.
