“Easily reachable from the M5, simple but foncional”

“De Vere Tortworth Court is a beautiful and unique mansion, completely surrounded by nature, built over 170 years ago. We came to visit the Cotswolds, and this accommodation worked out quite well (it is a 40 mins-1h drive from the main villages). Things I loved: All the shared areas are well kept and organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well as the bistro and the cocktail bar in the library room. Penhalingon's products in the bathrooms Plenty of free parking...

“Stayed for two nights as a stop over whilst going homeward. Wanted to have a look around the area. Room was small but adequate. Clean with en-suite shower. Ate in the dining area of the pub both nights and enjoyed the food. Informal but friendly service by all, and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Recommend a walk to the canal and then the walk to Gloucester on the tow path. It’s well paved and flat and about three miles.”

“The place is very dated, could do with a little TLC. There is no lift to the upper rooms, had it stated this on the website, I would not have booked. Having mobility problems, but not enough to have an accessable room, it was difficult with the stairs and luggage, however the receptionist did offer help. The room was clean but the plumbing very noisy! If you are at the front of the building, the road is very noisy, all through the night, especially if you sleep with the window open, with the hot...

“The Sloop Inn is in a convenient location to explore the area. The bedroom was small and had too much furniture; the two chairs took up all the space left in the room to move around, open a suitcase. The only power sockets were behind the bed. In order to plug in my phone and other chargers, I had to pull the bed away from the wall about 15cm in a room that was already too small. The bathroom sink light did not work. The staff were great.”
