Ocean Front Luxury Villa with Pool and Private Beach

  • Exclusive oceanfront property of individual villas with a pool and private beach on the nature side of Isla Colon.
    This tropical sanctuary on a cliff over the Caribbean was built in 2019 as a mini-village of separate casitas with unique natural materials: teak, bamboo, venetian plaster, and travertine pavers throughout. It is both luxurious and modern, yet warm and artisanal.

    Guests say the property feels like a 5 star spa, and brings deep relaxation. The property faces north and the open ocean with wonderful breezes.

    The property is energy independent with a robust solar and rain catchment systems. Temperatures vary from 75-85 degrees F (24-30 Celsius) year round.

    Cala del Drago is perfect for those who prefer being immersed in nature to being in the ‘tourist’ zone of the bustling Caribbean town of Bocas on the other side of the island (15km). You will see monkeys passing by in the treetops from your living and dining rooms, as well as a couple of resident sloths, sometimes with a baby.

    You can explore multiple beaches via jungle paths toward Playa Estrella, Yaris Nori Restaurant, and Bird Island Bungalows/Restaurant. For easy access to town there are taxis or you can rent a vehicle.
    When you arrive, our manager Tom will pick you up and take you shopping at our favorite stores before taking you to the property to orient you. For groups over 4 people a second vehicle will be provided at an additional cost of $30 each way. For a special outing, we have a custom built luxury day boat with captain, which is available as a separate fee.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful villa. It’s an off the grid home, but we only had one evening where the generator was needed to juice up the battery system. Wonderful cooking kitchen, and the most beautiful view for eating. This property has the best privacy, and the best of both worlds when it comes to being right on the ocean, while also being immersed in the tropical jungle. Being that it is in the jungle, there are all kinds of critters to see. From Howler monkeys, to poison dart frogs of different variety’s and colour morphs. Definitely a nature lovers dream. Everybody associated with this property from owners, to yard maintenance was fantastic. Vidan(owner) was incredibly receptive to messages, and also very accommodating. Rubiel(yard maintanance) was an absolute sweetheart. He doesn’t speak any English, but with a simple translator app he’ll work with you. This property has a wonderful and refreshing saltwater pool. A great way to start the day. Rooms are very clean. There is no a/c, but there is a fairly powerful overhead fan above the master bed that kept us sleeping just fine in the tropical weatherIf nature, privacy and relaxation is what you’re looking for…this is the property. We hope to come back and stay longer than 10 days sometime. Thank you Vidan, Allison and your wonderful groundskeeper Rubiel. The trip was magical
