“I loved everything about my stay at Curiol except the fan in the tent. It could really be replaced with something stronger. Otherwise it was beautiful and peaceful. A wonderful way to start our stay in Costa Rica!”

“Do not be discouraged by the road to Rancho Humo, what lies at the end turned out to be a real gem. This property is nestled up against the central wetlands of Nicoya peninsula on the shore of the Tempisque river and is a definitive location for birdwatchers from all over. My wife and I are not birdwatchers but booked this based on its remote location and its high marks from other reviews. We also booked in offseason so fortunately for us we were the only guests and the staff was so great...

“Struttura molto semplice ma in pieno centro. Essendo solo di passaggio e considerato il caldo di Liberia l'ho scelta per l'aria condizionata purtroppo però non c'era, presente solo un ventilatore. Ritengo sia una cosa piuttosto grave. ”

“While Karao Hotel may offer budget nightly stays, it offers amazingly large rooms, close vicinity to the Liberia airport, public bus directory in front of Karao, and extraordinary professionally brewed coffee shop and breakfast meals. The (made on premises) breakfast items are inexpensive and high quality. Hope you will enjoy my recent photos of these delights, my companion and I stayed twice in December 2025. Perfect in every way.”
