“Great hotel, great staff, great food, and really great golf. Stayed at The Machrie for my 60th Birthday, mainly to play the golf course, but also as a base to explore Islay. We’ve stayed in many hotels - this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. My wife suffers from Coeliac Disease so has to have a strict gluten free diet. “This hostel was incredibly clean, including the room, showers, toilets, and the shared kitchen and lounge. I have stayed in hostels several times before, but this is the cleanest one I have ever experienced! The hostel managers were also kind and very warm people; they really looked after me! If I have the chance to visit Islay again, I would definitely stay here and would highly recommend it to my friends!”
