Ottimo!
Hotel Villa Clementina is an idyllic country hotel. It is important to have a car as it is about a 10 minute drive into Bracciano. It is not on the lake front, but is 'just up the hill'. In October it was very quiet, the gardens were lush and the weather was good. The staff were very attentive and the included breakfast was delicious - special diet was not a problem for them. We had a delicious dinner there every night (it was too far to go to town, in the dark). Bracciano is an attractive town, with a very handsome castle and lakeside restaurants. Lake Bracciano is beautiful: we drove around; and visited the historical Italian Airforce Museum. We used the hotel as a base to visit the extraordinary hill town of Bagnioregio, and the city of Tivoli with Villa d'Este and Hadrian's Villa.
This is a great place to stay if you're coming up from Rome, headed to Tuscany and points North. Short drive from FCO. Hotel is small but rooms are very clean and we had a very spacious accommodation. Hotel has a nice pool and a restaurant. Breakfasts were not so luxurious, but included lots of fresh fruit and great croissants, lots of pastries, and hard boiled eggs. Dinners, however, were amazing and extremely reasonable. Bracciano is on a beautiful lake and the town itself has a castle worth a tour (very inexpensive), some great restaurants right near the castle, and probably the best Gelato shop we've been at in Italy (and we've been at many!). You can also do day trips to lovely towns like Bolsena on your way to Tuscany. Villa Clementina staff was superb-they'll go out of their way to fulfill any reasonable request. We will stay there again.
