The room was fine & comfortable. However the bathroom door in our room was a sliding barn door w/ frosted glass, so while you couldn’t clearly see the person in the bathroom, you can definitely see the silhouette of the person. Not a good idea for a mom traveling w/ a teenage son, or other scenarios too that it’s not a good idea. It needs to be a complete privacy door. Also the breakfast was a joke & gross. The first morning I found 4 pieces of hair in my yogurt. It was a very limited breakfast & some mornings there wasn’t any hot food, I.e. eggs, meat, etc. Also they didn’t check the creamer for the coffee each day as the 2nd & 3rd day it was the same bottles, & they were empty. When I asked if they had more creamer the front desk was very hesitant & at first wanted to argue w/ me that there was creamer in the bottle; once he realized there wasn’t he went in the back & brought out a whole new bottle of creamer. It’s obvious they do not check these things daily. The breakfast area was not as clean as it should be as the containers holding clean silverware had food or something stuck on the sides of the inside of the containers; also the bin holding the coffee stirrers had not been cleaned for awhile as there was a lot of spilled sugar on the bottom of it & just looked dirty. The customer service was lacking as well. If you’re looking for a hotel for the complimentary breakfast I would steer clear of this one. I will not be staying here again.

The room was extremely clean and beds were comfortable. The bartender was amazing (!!!) and went out of her way to help any and everyone who needed assistance because the front desk clerk was almost never present. Phones were ringing off the hook and guests had difficulty obtaining room keys and having other needs met. The breakfast wasn’t great and the buffet and coffee areas were filthy and there were no clean dishes. Items were not being restocked as they ran out. Have stayed here twice before but this time it missed the mark.

Horrible customer service.
It was a family trip to a soccer tournament. Room rates were crazy, but to make it worse, the operations manager, Michael, at the front desk was far from helpful and kind during check-in. The bad attitude and service made the check-in experience unpleasant, taking over an hour to resolve an issue. He wanted to charge us for a no-show despite my call to make changes, which I had proof of. Long story short, people like Michael should not be dealing with customers if the hotel wants to retain them. I’ll definitely not go back to the Hyatt at Lakewood again.

Large room with king bed. Bed is comfortable - cushioned but not pillow top plush. Mildewy smell in the room. Large bathroom. Great water pressure. TP is papery - not soft. Daily breakfast is on the better side of things - they make the waffles for you rather than the messy set up at other hotels. Every morning is something a bit different. Gym is pretty spacious but ice cold in there - hard to want to work-out in the morning due to the temperature. Apparently a common complaint but nothing they can do about it. Pool area is perfect. Lobby is a comfortable place to hang and visit.

I have been a frequent guest at Hyatt Place. This recent visit has me questioning the options of returning. I had booked a 2 night stay. My 1st night had me sleeping with a sweater as the heat did not work. The staff, only upon my prodding, offered me extra blankets not switching my room. The refrigerator was warm so keeping any water bottles was a moot point. The next morning I requested a new room. I was accommodated. However, in this room the toilet seat was not secure shifting from side to side and old urine stain was visible on the back inside lid. Breakfast had a good variety but all the waffles sitting on a plate were cold. Upon checkout, I asked for some form of compensation for the 1st night and was informed he did not have authorization but could offer me credit for the bar! I was checking OUT..what good is a credit for the bar? I should have been comped for the one night. His attitude was not customer friendly but more of an attitude of "it i what it is". I have choices what hotel to go to. After spending more than $400. this reception was unacceptable and most disappointing.

When the heat was not working the staff response was immediate and our room changed and upgraded……Excellent service Inconvenient that the room did not have a microwave or safe. No free coffee or tea offered in lobby. Those amenities are common in other similarly priced motels. Elevators not working for part of our stay and we used stairs. Luckily we can use stairs.

The maid service was horrible. Cups and glasses were left for days and were not replaced until we called the desk. The bathroom was barely touched. The bar/ restaurant didn’t have half of what was listed. There was no help with luggage. The kiosk for just n case items was nearly empty. The front desk was worked by the bartender and it was just generally understaffed. Highly unacceptable for a Hyatt.
