Yes, it is true we had an overbooking and we contacted you right away and we offered you a free upgrade to the Queen Room (the only room in the property with a private balcony overlooking the Christmas Market). You gladly accepted and then you didn't show up. We have proof that we contacted you and offered the upgrade, telling people you were unable to contact the hotel is a lie and we will make sure we will use this proof to defend our image and our reputation.

Dear Adrian, Thank you for choosing Safrano Palace. We encourage our guests to talk about their experience in Safrano Palace but we don't encourage them to tell lies. Let's take what you said one by one and see how things really were: 1. Smelly & mouldy washroom - you arrived at the property and after check in formalities our colleagues brought you to your room. You refused the room and demanded another one and again another one. On the third option you said everything is fine even though our colleague told you we can offer you a free upgrade (if this third room was not satisfactory). You inspected the third room thoroughly and you declared yourself pleased. So, how come now it turns out that the washroom was smelly and mouldy? If it wasn't from the beginning it became smelly after??? 2. Zero Covid-19 precautions: These are just a few of the things we do - all our staff is wearing face masks at all time, all contact surfaces are disinfected every hour, in the breakfast room the number of seats was decreased by 50% in accordance to the laws, all the cutlery is individually wrapped, disinfectant dispensers are placed at each entrance, room cleaning service is suspended and it is offered by request to limit the interaction with our guests and to create a safe environment in their room, guests have to wear face masks in the public areas... 3. Bedbugs and no toiletries - Lets just assume this was true. Why would you stay for 2 nights in a hotel that has bedbugs and no toiletries? Did the bedbugs come to your room only on the second night? Why did you not call the reception and complain about it during your stay? Cleaning and disinfecting the rooms is our top priority so each room is thoroughly cleaned after each departure, a deep cleaning on each room is done every week and a bugs and bacteria repellent is applied monthly on the entire property. All of these things can be documented with CCTV recordings! It may happen that the cleaning staff forgets to put a shampoo or a bathing gel but if this happens, and lets face it it can be an honest mistake, why would you not call the reception and request to have them brought to you? 4. No room cleaning - Did you pay any attention to the instructions given on the check in? No! because if you would have paid attention you would remember that our colleagues from reception told you that due to Covid-19 safety measures we have suspended the day to day cleaning service and the housekeeping staff will enter your room only if you specifically request that. What were you saying before about ZERO Covid -19 precautions? 5. Huge old-fashioned key that you had to carry around town - Safrano Palace is located in a historical building erected 175 years ago and the design of the rooms, the furniture, the renovation works, everything was done to preserve that style. That refers also to the style of the keys! You always had the option of leaving the key at the reception instead of carrying it around the town. 6. Compla

Dear Frederic, Thank you for being our guest. Yes, the hotel does not have AC as it is a historical building and such improvements are not allowed on this type of establishment. If AC was something that you really want you should have filtered your search when you where looking for your accommodation in Brasov. The hotel has a 24h reception and you just need to dial 600 from the phone in your room in order to get in touch with the staff at the reception. The phone listing shows you did not tried this not even once! In terms of cleaning, my colleagues explained to you that due to the pandemic situation we are trying to limit our contact with the guests so if you need to have your room cleaned you just need to hang the sign "Please make up my room" or to let the reception know. We know that your English was really bad but we did not imagine it was so bad that you did not understand this simple instructions. We advise you that next time read more carefully the description of the properties, pay more attention to the instruction given by the staff and maybe, just maybe, step up a bit on your level of English.

We could have removed the carpet if it had a strange smell, we could've changed your room, we could've done so much to improve your stay if only we would've know about it.
