Gedateerd familiehotel

Het hotel heeft duidelijk een verfbeurt nodig. Het ziet er redelijk uit. Het diner in het restaurant was eenvoudig maar heel smakelijk. Ook het ontbijt was vrij simpel maar goed. De kamer was schoon, maar zeer gedateerd. Hetzelfde voor de badkamer. Behalve een flatscreen is hier lange tijd niets aan opgeknapt. Onze kamer lag in een dependance aan de overkant van een zeer drukke straat; niet geschikt voor gezinnen met kleine kinderen.

Preiswertes Hotel. War ein sehr gemütliches Zimmer. Habe auch noch nach 22.00 Uhr lecker gegessen. Ideal für den kleinen Geldbeutel.

Schönes Gasthaus mit leckerem Essen.

Ein schönes Gasthaus in einem kleinen Dorf. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Ein richtig schöner Familienbetrieb. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und alles mit frischen Zutaten. Bier und Schnaps sehr lecker. Faire Preise und ein sehr gutes preiswertes Frühstück. Ein Traum ist die selbst gemachte Marmelade. Das Zimmer war schön und ruhig, allerdings sind die Möbel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Dafür ist alles sehr sauber und ordentlich. Ich würde jederzeit dieses Gasthaus wieder buchen. Habe mich während meines Aufhaltes sehr zufrieden gefühlt. Die Gastgeberin ist super freundlich und nett. Einfach Klasse.

Ich war geschäftlich für ein paar Tage dort. Wollte nur eine saubere Unterkunft für die Nacht. Es war aber eine Zumutung. Schimmel im Badezimmer und eklige Bettwäsche. Sehr enttäuschend!

Very quiet neighbourhood, will require own transpo

Basic, but clean guesthouse. Situated in small village of Phillipstein, you will find it difficult to get a taxi particularly after 9pm, so own transport will be required.

Gasthaus Gombel - Mehr Schein, als sein

Wir kamen hin und dachten es ist eine Kneipe, die Umgebung sehr unordentlich und ungepflegt. Trotzdem Inhaberin nett, aber man wurde beim verlassen drauf hingewiesen, das nur Barzahlung geht, keine Kreditkarten Abbuchung wie eingegeben. Preis könnte für Übernachtungen günstiger sein, bei der geringen Ausstattung. Zimmer sind sehr Hellhörig.

For those who like 'old-fashioned' places.

Old-fashioned but clean. Nothing to do in the area but beautifully located in the middle foresty hills. Restaurant is good!

Rustikale Pension mit 70er-Charme

Dusche kaputt (wurde dann am nächsten Tag repariert), TV kein Empfang, Toilettenpapier eine Zumutung, Betten unterirdisch. Zumindest war alles schön sauber, Lage sehr ruhig.

Not fantastic...

Cheap, but not so cheerful. I stayed in the guesthouse across the street, which was fine, but very dated and a bit grim. Bathroom was grubby, with a lot of mould. Didn't look like it had had a good clean I a while... The place was a bit creepy to be honest- a lot of cats in the building, which were loud, and made the place smell a bit funky. It's fine for an overnight stop, as the beds are comfy enough, but if staying in the area for anything other than the bare minimum, I'd carry on up the road 2 or 3km to the town of Braunfels (really nice place)

Fahrradfahren an der Lahn, Gasthof/ Hotel mit ausgewiesenem Parkplatz für 2 Nächte gesucht und gefunden!

Günstig, aber mitten im Nirgendwo

Das Zimmer hatte WLAN auf Nachfrage, TV-Empfang inzwischen auch mit mehr als 5 Fernsehprogrammen. Handtücher und Bettwäsche waren alt aber sauber. Das Frühstück ist mit 4EUR zwar günstig aber mit Aufbackbrötchen, Wurst/Käse-Teller, schlechtem Kaffee und viel zu weichem Ei auch nicht mehr wert. Das Einzelzimmer war äußerst klein und ein wenig muffig aber man konnte das Fenster öffnen.

Bon rapport Q/Prix

Prestation très correcte par rapport au prix. Chambre vieillotte mais propre, sdb OK. Personnel accueillant parlant peu ou pas l'anglais. Adresse dure à trouver, même avec un GPS.

Gombel Guest House--nice

The Gombel Guest House was nicer than expected for the price and has good food. Rustic decor restaurant with good local beer on tap and good dinners. A large good German breakfast included with the price of the room. Only one employee spoke English and there were no TV channels in English among the 6 channels available. The small town of Braunfels is approached coming from Frankfurt via small two-lane rural roads that become a paved forest road with no dividing line for a few kilometers before widening to become the main road in town. Recommend arriving before it gets dark due to road condition. And bring your own soap and shampoo. I would stay there again if I make it back to that region of Germany.
