“Lighthouse Inn was among the highest rated stays in Crescent City, CA, but it should be one of the lowest. I will preface by saying that all of our issues with our stay were kindly solved by the staff at the hotel. When we first arrived, the front of the building was under construction, where visible mold and wood was exposed to the guests. “We booked for two nights during our trip to the Redwoods. The location was convenient and the hotel was quiet. The staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. Unfortunately, the property itself was disappointing. The room showed its age, with worn furnishings and signs of deferred maintenance. “We had to leave early and it was impossible to get a hold of a manger onsite or by phone. Also, one day when we are were out visiting, someone came into our room and packed all our stuff up like we were getting kicked out. Not cleaning service as they don't have it. We still had one more night's stay. All of our toiletries and food was thrown into our laundry bag and had to be thrown out. No explanation. Terrible experience.”
