Terrible room. Tiny, with a view of big industrial HVAC units, propane tanks scattered about, dirty old adjacent rooftops, a ramshackle wooden fence, and a big green garbage dumpster. I took a photo if you want proof. The shower had almost no water pressure, there were insufficient towels and washcloths in the bathroom, and the Pantry lacked its former selection of pastries. I could go on, but what’s the point?
The staff was friendly and the room seemed reasonably clean, although the carpet in the room was stained and it was incredibly cramped in there. Why was I put in what is obviously the worst room in the hotel? I am a regular customer, but if I get put in such a miserable room again, I won’t stay there anymore. Also there was no microwave to heat water for my tea and the little pod coffee machine was so old and filthy it gave my tea a horrible undrinkable taste. A bad experience at a place that usually brings me joy. Jekyll Island Club can do much better, but not this time. Were they punishing me for booking through Expedia? Regardless, I highly recommend refusing Room 2409. It is not worth it. Ruined my trip.
