We enjoyed the proximity to the beach/walk way. It also appeared that the property was building a new walkway that was even closer to the rental. We’ve been to Jekyll many times, so we knew the area. The down side was that most of the furniture needs to be replaced. You sank down in the loveseat in the living area, so it wasn’t easy to stand up, even for the 35 year olds. The other loveseat was outdoor wicker furniture, and although sturdy, the cushions were very flat, so it was not very comfortable. The photos on VRBO do not accurately depict the current furniture set up.
It also needs a good cleaning. Our son-in-law dripped some water on the floor, and when he wiped it up with a paper towel, the towel was very dirty. You could see the dirt in the corners of the kitchen floor. It was like dirty water had dried there. The shower in the lower level bathroom was completely clogged the first time it was used. We called the management company, who called the property, and maintenance was sent out very quickly. They were able to clear the clog, but we wondered how the shower was cleaned and no one noticed it would not drain.
Inspite of these issues, we did enjoy our stay, and we do like the overall property. However, we will probably not rent this unit again, unless we can see that updates have been done.
