“We enjoyed everything at the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but I didn't mind that too much - it added to the charm because everything worked absolutely fine (shower, TV, kettle). The dining room is very grand and the food exceptional. The staff in the restaurant were super. Most of the staff elsewhere in the hotel were very good and welcoming. “We booked 2 sea view rooms for 3 nights. Only one room had a sea view and the bathroom in that room had black mould around the ceiling. The other room had a very old mattress and the bedding was old and thin. The pillows in that room were flat. We checked out after 1 night and will not be back. Whilst the staff were friendly, this hotel needs refurbishment, new mattresses, new duvets, pillows, blankets and linen. Mould is injurious to health and no hotel of the calibre that this hotel...

The very young girls who are the cleaning crew, were sitting right outside our door chatting, laughing and playing on their phones waiting for us to check out even though we had more than an hour till checkout time. “The room was clean, with modern/quirky tech features. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, providing a place to store our luggage after the check out time. The hotel is in a good location for the Redjet passenger ferry and the high street with bars and restaurants. It is also located a few mins walk from the taxi rank and bus stop that has connections to Newport.”

“The carpet in our room had not been vacuumed, there were food crumbs on the floor. We wanted to check in 15 minutes early and were charged 15 pounds. I felt that was a little high of a charge for 15 minutes. ”
