This is a complete ripoff based upon reputation and not on excellence in service or hospitality. Honestly, an American Howard Johnson hotel could outrank this property (and I am not exaggerating). Pros: great location, gorgeous breakfast area, and superb concierges (among the best I've come across). Cons: the rooms are extremely dated - brass and faux gold trimmings everywhere - no modern amenities, the pool is shockingly small that no more than 2 or 3 people could do lap swimming in it. Even though we bought the room/breakfast package, their breakfast is an embarrassment - 3-4 heated items, very limited fruits and pastries, and an extra cost for simple things like omeletes. The breakfast staff is also rude and totally uninterested in mingling with guests. It was so bad we just went elsewhere for breakfast; BA has so many great cafes, why settle for a second-rate breakfast? The hotel, in summary, is in dire need of an overhaul, looks and feels dated, and is not worth the money we spent. Would not recommend as this city has many more affordable options with higher standards of service and amenities.
