My friends and I spent three weeks here, getting to know Buenos Aires at our leisure.
I can only praise our treatment, starting with the prompt responses from the manager to our questions, to the kindnesses of the staff who went out of their way to ensure we had some Argentine pesos available at our Sunday check-in, to driving us to/from the airport.
The location of the apartment is in heart of the elegant (and very safe) Recoleta area, with dozens of restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries, and stores within a two-block radius. My personal favorites are Covadonga across the street, Quotidiano Bar de Pastas a block away, and coffee and pastry in the garden restaurant of Como en Casa next to the apartment.
Before you arrive, study up on the history of Buenos Aires and you will be rewarded by the friendly and courteous portenos who are justifiably proud of their city and happy to explain it to foreign tourists.
I suggest you learn how to use the bus system, or simply hail one of the cheap and plentiful taxis in the area.
You will be glad to endure the long trip to Buenos Aires to experience the fine food, culture, and friendly people.
