Upon checking into our room, we discovered the bathroom was completely clogged. I immediately contacted the front desk, and a maintenance worker was sent. This individual entered our room without greeting, introduction, or even basic eye contact - an interaction that felt dismissive and unprofessional. He made an unsuccessful attempt to fix the problem, then left without explanation.
When the problem persisted, we called the front desk again. On this occasion, Scott Marshall assured us that the matter would be fully resolved by the time we returned from a concert that evening, and that the superintendent would personally ensure it was fixed. Based on this assurance, we left confident that the issue would be handled.
However, when we returned at approximately 1:30 a.m., we were shocked to find that nothing had been done. I called the front desk and spoke with Raven Beckles, who stated there was no record of our earlier calls or the problem. To make matters worse, she implied - gesturing toward my partner - that we had failed to communicate the issue properly. This insinuation was false, disrespectful, and offensive.
Ms. Beckles then informed us that no other rooms were available and instructed us to use the public restroom in the lobby for the remainder of our stay. This suggestion was not only wholly unacceptable but also degrading and unsafe. We had paid for a private room with functioning amenities, not a compromised experience requiring use of a public facility.
