“Perfect location in the heart of Wroxham/Hoveton. Nowhere better to sit and enjoy a drink by the river and watch the hustle and bustle of river life, tempered by the tranquility of the wildlife. “This is the third occasion we have stayed at The Recruiting Sergeant and hopefully it won't be the last. We received a prompt and friendly check-in on arrival and were shown to our first-floor room which was a good size, as was the bathroom. Jane and Mark made us feel very welcome and were great hosts providing us with lots of useful information about the area. Our room was immaculate with a fantastic modern bathroom. “We stayed at this hotel for one night in August, the room was lovely and comfortable and they were able to accommodate our 2 children on Z-Beds in the same room- this was very much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, lovely ladies serving the breakfast too. The swimming pool is such a lovely addition, heated to a nice temperature. We will definitely be coming back! ”

“I stayed along with 3 friends for 4 nights and we all thought the hotel was beautiful from the outside and its setting right next to the river is fantastic. Parts of the hotel are a little tired and the unmodernised bedrooms need a facelift although theyre perfectly comfortable. “We were visiting friends in Cromer Pier Show and I wanted to book a last minute Hotel. The Holiday Inn was the closest (over 20 miles away) and available and the best rate. I didn’t realise breakfast was included, which was a nice surprise when the receptionist informed us at check in. We could have used the pool, but didn’t have time in the end. Great price, lovely clean room with bathroom & shower, comfortable bed, friendly staff, bar & a lovely garden. Renovations going on but made no difference to the stay.
