Sunset Heights 500 is a recently remodeled top (fifth) floor condo in Playa Flamingo, offering spectacular ocean views and an elegant coastal design.
The Space: The 1,700 sq. ft. (158 m²) unit can comfortably sleep six guests across two bedrooms, and the 75-foot wrap-around balcony offers panoramic seaside marina views from every angle.
Sunset Heights 500 features an open-concept design with a living room, dining space, and kitchen. The living room features a plush couch and armchair, a wooden coffee table, and a flat-screen TV. The living space is furnished with sunset-orange accents and nautical-themed artwork. It is situated next to a sliding door that opens onto a covered balcony with wooden furniture, a BBQ grill, and ocean views.
The chef’s kitchen is equipped with granite countertops, wood cabinets, and stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator and freezer, a microwave, an oven and stovetop, and a dishwasher. The kitchen features a granite breakfast bar with four wooden barstools, and between the kitchen and living space, an elegant glass-top dining table sits, accompanied by six wooden chairs.
The spacious master bedroom features a king-sized bed with a wooden headboard and matching furniture, a flat-screen TV, a sliding glass door that opens onto the balcony with stunning ocean and mountain views, and a door that leads to the other side of the wrap-around balcony, which offers views of the Flamingo Marina. The second bedroom features two queen-sized beds and is furnished with high-end wood furniture. The unit includes two bathrooms.
Sunset Heights 500 is located on the top floor of the condominium building. You can take the elevator up but it still requires a small set of steps. The unit is pet-friendly and includes a washer and dryer. The community offers amenities for guests, including two swimming pools with lounge chairs and a fitness center.
Pet-friendly policy
We welcome your furry friends at our property! Before you book, each pet must be verified and approved based on breed and size (max 35 lbs.), accompanied by a recent photo. A refundable pet fee of $200 per stay, along with an additional cleaning fee of $50 + 13% per pet, is required to ensure our home remains pristine for all guests. We allow up to two pets per reservation. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times in public areas within the property grounds. Certain properties and complexes may have specific rules and registration requirements. Pets need to be verified at least 24 hours prior to check-in. If guests arrive at check-in with unverified pets, access to the property will be denied.

The Neighborhood: Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that juts out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo. Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stores, banks and other conveniences. A brand-new, state-of-the-art marina opened to the public in 2022, with slips for yachts and fishing boats, condos for rent and all kinds of shops and restaurants. Other major developments here include the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on top of the North Ridge, the Margaritaville Beach Resort, and the upscale Mar Vista housing development, where there’s an excellent private school called La Paz. Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill. Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, hardware stores and the Super Massai grocery store. Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Pan de Azucar and Danta.
Getting Around: Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.
We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.
Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour.
