The Dock House - Creek to Beach in 5 min

Immerso in un parco come l'impostazione The Dock House offre il meglio dei due mondi. Tranquillo, comfort e privacy dopo una giornata in spiaggia o una notte in città. Il retro della proprietà presenta un portico schermato (ma gli insetti raramente sono un problema) che si apre a tutti i suoni e le viste che un estuario di acqua salata può fornire. Falchi, aironi, garzette, falchi pescatori, pellicani, piper, avvoltoi turchi e picchi sono visitatori quotidiani. Gioco come cervi, conigli e scoiattoli frequenta la zona. Dal molo sono visibili pesci e crostacei durante il flusso di marea giornaliero. Il cortile laterale è abbastanza grande da ospitare una partita di Bocce, Badmiton o Croquet. Un barbecue in stile parco si trova accanto alle due amache all'ombra lungo l'estuario per rilassarsi e distendersi.
Una delle 25 migliori spiagge del mondo (votata da National Geographic 2017 e Trip Advisor 2018) si trova a 2 miglia di distanza in linea d'aria. Il parcheggio in spiaggia si trova gratuitamente all'ingresso principale o torna verso i negozi. Il parcheggio a pagamento è disponibile per $ 8 al giorno al molo. Il molo di pesca è di proprietà privata e richiede una tassa di $ 1 per una passeggiata e la lettura della storia dell'isola o $ 9 per canna per la pesca. La spiaggia è una bellezza in ogni momento. Ottimo sole crogiolarsi, nuotare, andare in bicicletta, camminare o correre. La sabbia è liscia e dura dove l'acqua la tocca. 10 gradi più fresco in spiaggia. Una brezza rigida può visitare ogni tanto in spiaggia, ancorare bene l'ombrellone o noleggiare una cabana. Assicurati di catturare almeno un'alba e un tramonto dalla spiaggia panorami mozzafiato. Sunset Beach Island accumula più massa di terra ogni giorno, una rarità per un'isola. Alcuni dei periodi migliori da visitare vanno da fine maggio a giugno o da settembre a metà ottobre. Ma non è inaudito raggiungere i 75 gradi a gennaio. Controlla la temperatura dell'acqua per i piani di nuoto però.
Calabash viene definito "La capitale mondiale del cibo per mare" a partire dagli anni '40. L'area di solito attira una buona folla intorno all'ora della cena. I gamberi freschi sono uno dei notabili della zona. Molti negozi di spedizione in città e nella zona circostante.

Our stay was very homey and relaxed, which was just the break we needed. The kids enjoyed looking out at the water in the mornings. It was really nice being so close to the beache, especially with the young ones. Paul was very nice and quick to respond to any messages. Overall, a great area, house, and host!

Calm creek bliss

Wonderful place

Very comfortable house in a beautiful location. Calabash is a great little town. Easy check in, house is clean and well stocked. I could spend all day sitting on the dock.

Great stay

Nice, quiet, safe neighborhood never felt the need to lock our vehicle whole there. House was what we expected. Clean house, well kept lawn. Hosts made checkin very easy though we thought we were at wrong address when arrived because there was vehicle in garage so we had a laugh over that. Due to wind and low tide being middle of afternoon i didnt get to fish but the pier and screened in porch offered nice realaxing atmospheres.Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Rare find in Calabash

My parents live in Calabash. We stayed here so we could have some extra space for a family reunion. The house is a rare find in this area. Lovely yard right on the water. We really enjoyed the little dock sitting area. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Nice big, clean fridge, Stove and oven worked well. It was cold outside, and the heat worked well. The sun porch is nice. And the living room and kitchen sitting areas provide lots of places to spread out and relax. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The checkin and checkout were easy. And the owner was very responsive though we did not experience any problems whatsoever. Really good find!

Rent at your own risk!!! Roaches!!!!!

The outside of the property is set next to a beautiful little river, and is quite charming. However, on the inside the home smelled musty, and when we began to open cupboards and put away our food, we were greeted with huge cockroaches we constantly had to hide our food in plastic bags or the refrigerator, the same with dishes, so they were not ran upon by roaches, the bed linens in the master bedroom smelled of body odor. I informed the owner of my displeasure of renting out a roach infested smelly property. He told me I could leave and he would refund my money. The problem with that is I had no other place to stay on such short notice. I ended up buying laundry detergent and re-washing all the bedding because it reeked even with their detergent and tried to make the best of it. I cleaned up the place better than I found it re-washed all the dishes, and even left roach traps for the next guest. The owner was kind enough to reward me by charging me $45 for not putting the garbage by the curb. I wouldn’t stay here ever again. I was constantly concerned that I might carry roaches home to my own family home. Rent at your own risk.

Great house and location for our family vacation

We had everything we needed for our vacation. My son really enjoyed the fishing. He hooked several fish and an alligator. Many memories were made. A 10 minute drive the beautiful sunset beach was perfect. We hope to book here again if ever back in the area.

We LOVED IT!!

Oh my goodness we cannot say enough amazing things about this property!! The house was super cleans and so well stocked with necessities the backyard os beyond perfect. We fished every tide in and out and had a blast. The neighborhood is super quiet and we enjoyed all the natiure!! So many gorgeous birds and even raccoons we went on our belated honeymoon and are already planning another trip soon. Paul was very communitive and super kind!!

Great little house and a quiet little neighborhood

We love sitting on the back screened in porch watching all the nature we saw deer a snake lots of birds fish jumping in the water it was very peaceful I would stay there again.

Peace and Quiet

Nice brick ranch home in a very quiet older and established neighborhood. I was surprised at how little traffic and people I saw during the whole trip at the home. The yard is huge. Very private and quiet. Being on the creek and having the dock is perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife. I caught a few fish and saw a bald eagle among tons of other birds and crabs. Very close to all of the Calabash seafood restaurants and shops. I’d also recommend Gravy Southern Eatery which is very close by. You’re also only 10 minutes away from Sunset Beach and 15 from OIB. Paul was easy to work with and provided updates on anything needed. Would have no problem staying in the home again.

This house is amazing! The location is so convenient to everything. So comfortable and easy to be here. The estuary is so interesting and fun to watch as it changes. Would definitely stay here again!

Renting this house was such a great experience for me and my daughters, 12 and 14. The house and property are incredible. The best touch; the beach items and lawn games in the storage unit that Paul provides. We had so many positive experiences, nice surprises; great memories were made!

Fantastic!

This was the cleanest, most well-stocked rental we've ever stayed in. Also the most accurately described. The house was spotless, and instead of mismatched, random, and often nonexistent cookware and kitchen ware, there were complete matching sets of everything, and plenty of pots and pans and other gadgetry. Plenty of towels, pillows, bedding, even shower gel and shampoo. Fishing was pretty good.....would have been better if not for the shortage of live shrimp bait in the area lol. The yard is beautiful, the dock is great, and the neighborhood was very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this rental, thank you for sharing. We will be back!
