Situato nel piccolo e tranquillo villaggio di Cañones, non solo scoprirai che ci sono spettacolari viste sulle montagne, ma troverai anche che questo è il luogo ideale per fare una gita di un giorno per visitare alcuni dei posti più belli del nord del New Mexico. Santa Fe (AKA The City Different), Taos, il Santuario del Chimayo, il Chaco Canyon National Historical Park, le sorgenti minerali di Ojo Caliente e la bellissima strada panoramica per Chama dove troverete la Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad sono alcune delle i luoghi più popolari da visitare mentre vi godete il vostro soggiorno con noi!

Questa bellissima casa di mattoni è stata costruita nel 1800 ed è appartenuta alla famiglia da generazioni. A causa delle spesse mura di adobe, questa casa è calda e accogliente nei mesi invernali e bella e fresca nei mesi più caldi. Con recenti lavori di ristrutturazione, questa casa con 2 camere da letto e 2 bagni è stata rinnovata con moderne e moderne necessità che includono porte ad arco, riscaldamento radiante, piastrelle da pavimento belle, armadi walk-in e vigas con soffitto a vista.

Dotato di tutti i comfort per rendere il vostro soggiorno ancora più piacevole, inclusi lavatrice / asciugatrice, forno a microonde, caffettiera, pentole e piatti e utensili da utilizzare a vostra disposizione. Stayed at this lovely casita with spouse and 2 dogs. Casita has been totally renovated and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay (loved that there 2 full bathrooms). The large yard was totally enclosed, with a covered porch, and had stunning views of the mountains. Our host, and her parents who lived next door, were available to answer any questions and give info about the area. The casita is located not far from Abiquiu Lake and halfway between Ghost Ranch and the town of Abiquiu. Do be aware that the casita and the town of Canones are 7 miles from the main highway (Highway 84). It is a scenic drive to the casita but there are no stores/restaurants once you leave the town of Abiquiu so bring provisions (a stop at Bode's General Store is a must!). Looking forward to another stay at the casita in the future!

Nice property nestled into some stunning scenery, far enough away from anything to feel removed from the hustle and bustle, but near enough to things not to be inconvenienced by necessary needs like food, gasoline, etc. Wonderfully central to Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch for Georgia O'Keeffe fans.

Each morning I walked the gravel roads to get a new view of Perdenal - Georgia OKeefe’s favorite mountain. Snuggled into Canones, this lovely, comfortable home welcomed us to a quiet setting away from the bustle of Abiquiu tourists. Our host thought of every need and has made their casita a perfect getaway for us.

Two friends and I stayed at La Casita Tranquila for 3 days as our base for exploring the area around Abiquiu. The house seemed to have been recently remodeled (probably around and added to an old adobe home) with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was equipped to meet every cooking need. The living room, bedrooms and bathrooms were newly furnished. A real treat for us (that you don't find in many rental places) was the large areas outside the house, all enclosed by by walls. There were numerous places with outdoor furniture to sit and read and look at the surrounding cliffs and hills dotted with pinon trees. There is also a little cabin with whimsical things inside that guests had added. The Casita is actually located in a tiny village, Canones, where some families have probably owned property for centuries. It is a 15-minute drive from the highway, but we enjoyed the scenic drive back and forth. The surrounding area includes Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, a great ice-cream shop, and stunningly beautiful cliffs and geologic formations. We would definitely rent the Casita again for another visit in the future to this magical area of New Mexico.

If you’re looking for a quiet weekend getaway, this is it! The house was amazing and well equipped for cooking and everything you’d need for a long weekend! The host was amazing. The location is in a small community and everyone was super friendly. The house had great outdoor space, which was awesome for us because we brought our 2 dogs. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This property was definitely set back within the landscape and was such a neat experience. Mountain scenery was spectacular as were the night stars as there is very little light pollution at this property. House itself was really well built, furnished, and the kitchen was well stocked. Very clean and great communication with the host. Would stay here again if in the area.

Truly does feel like a retreat or refuge, tucked away in a small village, but within driving distance of well-known places. Hosts are nearby, eager to assist with anything needed, extremely friendly and happy to share knowledge of the area. The fresh herb garden is a special amenity. The original core of an early traditional home (later expanded) has been converted to very comfortable, modern accommodations. The ambience is indeed tranquil, with a sense of timelessness.

This was a beautiful home with many amenities. It is located somewhat remotely in a small community and is surrounded for privacy, and you get a great view from the the patio area. Very clean and all of the furniture and beds were nice and comfortable. The owners are lovely people. I would rent this again!

The beauty of the land and the love and craftsmanship of the casita is captivating and awe inspiring. Rick and Thelma are generous and welcoming hosts. There are not enough words to describe their generous hospitality. The process from start to finish was flawless and Amber is so very helpful! We will be back to the casita every year. Don't miss out on beautiful mornings and evenings on the back porch listening to the sounds of the village. You won't want to leave the casita!

We stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed the lake (about a 10 minute drive from the house). The house is completely updated, well maintained and very comfortable. We met one of the owners and a neighbor. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely time!

While we had a little trouble finding the property because we just didn't go quite far enough, the challenge was worth it! The house was super clean and comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms appear to be brand new. We loved being able to bring our new puppy and the fenced yard was convenient for him. We would have enjoyed being able to stay longer and hike up to the canyon. We have agreed that we'll have to come back sometime so that we can do that.

Fascinating history surrounding this community. Lovely casita beautifully renovated and surrounded by some of Mother Nature’s best work. Perfect for our home base while exploring the many beautiful and interesting sites around Abiquiu. Our pup loved having her own yard with great views of the surrounding mountains. Host family was gracious and very accommodating. We look forward to our next visit!!

Exceptionally clean, great location and wonderful host. The home has all the cooking supplies we needed to make some of our meals, and very comfortable beds. It’s been recently remodeled and so everything is new. We stayed for a week to explore and hike the Abiquiú, Ghost Ranch, Taos and Santa Fe area and this home was the perfect location. It’s in a small village outside of Abiquiú. Rick our host, took us on a great hike with Indian ruins that we otherwise would not have known about. It was the highlight of our trip.

We were looking for a nice place near Abiquiu for 3 adults. We didn't want the expense of two hotel rooms, but did want a bit of personal space. My wife suggested that I look on VRBO, and I found this lovely casita near Abiquiu Lake, between Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms means a bit more privacy. A kitchen allows for meals, midnight snacks and readily available coffee. We arrived a little later than expected, but were warmly greeted. After unpacking, we were even entertained with a neighborhood fireworks show! The night sky was absolutely beautiful, as the stars and Milky Way were so much more visible away from city lights! This house is charming and spacious, with luxurious linens and soft fluffy towels. Great showers (with good water pressure!) and very nice amenities! After a good night's sleep, sunrise was peacefully calm, having breakfast on the patio to the sounds of birdsongs and grand views of the hills. We enjoyed exploring Abiquiu in the morning, stopped by the casita for lunch, then to Ghost Ranch for the afternoon. After freshening up, we drove down to the lake for a light picnic while admiring a lovely sunset. Another comfortable night's sleep, then breakfast and a morning of hiking to Chimney Rock at Ghost Ranch. The owners allowed us a late checkout, so we could freshen up before the ride home. This visit to Abiquiu was made extremely comfortable, thanks to the stress-free convenience of the accommodation. What a world of difference this place made! I wholeheartedly recommend staying at this nice casita, and hope it's available next time we visit Abiquiu! *****

The casita was a wonderful weekend retreat from the hustle and bustle that is Denver and perfect for our needs. We traveled with an elderly parent for a family reunion held at the Lake Abiquiu who is no longer physically able to camp. For this purpose the house was ideal. Located in a stunning canyon in close proximity to the lake (6 miles to the campground/12 minute drive) it was the most affordable and convenient choice for our family. Everything was exactly as advertised and I will plan to return again and again. The house was impeccably clean, spacious and well appointed. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the back of the unit enjoying the spectacular night sky free from the city lights. The owners of the unit were friendly and greeted us warmly when we arrived and wished us well when we left - not intrusive in the least. I highly recommend this enchanting casita to all visiting the area. My only complaint was the length of my stay!
