Tiny Earth Cabin – A Beloved Nature Retreat Since 2018
There are no other cabins like Tiny Earth Cabin—a wilderness immersion that reboots the prefrontal cortex. Features include “forest floor creatures,” animal visitors, and nature as therapy.
Hidden deep in the woods, down a winding 900-foot forest path, Tiny Earth Cabin stands as a sanctuary for the soul—a true wilderness cabin where nature, warmth, and wonder converge. Open year-round and cozy even in the heart of a New England winter, this off-the-beaten-path hideaway invites you to disconnect from the world and reconnect with what matters most.
Guests often report a deep sense of peace, clarity, and even forgotten memories from childhood.
Inside, you'll find everything you need—and nothing you don’t. A comfy queen bed with a heated mattress, a wood-burning stove, and LED lights powered by on-demand 120V electricity create a warm, simple atmosphere. Step outside for a seasonal hot water shower, or light the campfire ring just 20 feet from your door under a canopy of stars.
As you settle in, flip the switch and illuminate a deer salt lick 90 feet away—watch wild visitors lick the salt under moonlight from the comfort of your cabin window. Cozy up with one of the 50 handpicked hardcover books on topics ranging from polar bears to fungi, women’s magazines to Shackleton’s icy adventures.
A full kitchenette with two burners, oven, and charming pantry essentials (popcorn, coffee, maple syrup, tea, olive oil) supports slow, joyful cooking. And with Starlink internet, you're free to stay connected—or not.
The trail in, crossing a seasonal brook on a mossy plank bridge, sets the tone: this place is grounded in Earth. Literally. You’ll feel it underfoot.
Tiny Earth Cabin is storied. Over 1,000 guests from 17 countries have found refuge here. It remained open through the solitude of 2020, earning its title as a true safe haven. It even inspired journalist MikeWillTravel to feature it in this video on Youtube titled "100 SQ FT OFF-GRID Eco-Friendly TINY CABIN! (60 Acres of Private Land)", with original stills by photographer John Heshion –– hosted on Viemo, titled "Tiny Earth Cabin".
Due to demand, we now kindly ask for week-long stays only—this place deserves more than a night or two. Come for the quiet. Stay for the deer, the brook, the stars, and the sense that you've found something rare.

Things to Do Nearby – Nature, Culture & Moon Magic
The charm of Tiny Earth Cabin extends far beyond its mossy footbridge. You’re nestled in one of New Hampshire’s most quietly rich cultural regions. Fall foliage season is a kaleidoscope of color not to be missed—made even better by syncing your trip with the full moon lunar cycle for night hikes and moonlit fires. Maple syrup season is a spring ritual here, with the scent of sap-sweet steam wafting through the trees.
Just 10 minutes away, explore the beautifully preserved Shaker Village, sip at the Canterbury Ale Works micropub, or taste small-batch spirits at Clearwater Distillery. Stroll to the Canterbury Country Store, a gem of a bistro-style shop offering homemade food and essential provisions. Next door, the Children’s Library and nearby Hackleboro Orchards (seasonal pick-your-own fruit) round out the kind of day that feels like it came from a simpler time.
And when you arrive, you’ll be greeted by Chance Anderson, our warm and whimsical Director of Wilderness Management. He’ll guide you to the cabin and make sure your stay is as magical as it should be—always signing off with his signature blessing:
“Bless the sky, bless the moon, bless the spoon of love :)”
We don't charge service fee, so the only thing we ask is to make your own bed with the clean sheets we will provide. Make sure to grab the bag of clean sheets from the covered bin next to the wood shed before you head down. Please remove the sheets at checkout and leave it on the bed. Be sure to bring your trash with you on your way out and deposit it at the woodshed barrel!
Wood is provided at $8 per bundle for the stove on hand at the woodshed.
Tiny Earth Cabin may be the only small cabin on any site devoted especially to the world of what is referred to as Mother Nature! Chance has spent 2,111 days in nature (the Canadian Arctic) with the University of Colorado, Department of Geological Sciences.
