Hi Danie, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us & we were very sorry to hear that your experience was not entirely a good one. Unfortunately, your one night stay with us, coincided with a particularly severe bout of power cuts in Franschhoek! As explained to you at the time, we had not yet fully completed our installation of Solar paneling, Invertors & back up batteries, to counter such 'black outs'. Sadly & unexpectedly, this has proved to be a timely process - from procuring the necessary equipment & materials from overseas, to the actual installation! We did, of course, immediately upgrade you, free of charge, to a superior suite that had the completed installation, on hearing of your displeasure, but unfortunately at that time, simply could not do likewise for those travelling with you - sadly we just did not have any other available suites that had the install! Unfortunately, with those booking through a third party, as you did, we will not have had direct emails & thus contact & communication is not as fluid & informative as it could & normally is otherwise.Thankfully now, however much later than anticipated, our installation is almost complete - our hope is to be fully finished by end of this month, August/early September & we're on target & almost there!We really hope Danie that this, largely unavoidable situation, will not deter you from revisiting Akademie Street, when you will now be able to truly experience & enjoy Akademie at it's best, without the scourge of any power cuts!
