MANAGEMENT RESPONSE When we started at this guesthouse almost 2 years ago, we had one goal in mind - to offer guests a truly memorable experience. We never imagined we would have to respond to a review such as this. We agree that we were requested to place an arrangement in the room. We have done this for a number of guests with happy feedback. When you checked in, you were shown the cost of the arrangement. At the time of check out, the extras had to be settled and the cost of the arrangement was confirmed and added to the total. Your husband settled the full amount by credit card. After the transaction was finalised, you exploded in rage. Shouting and screaming at Rose and your husband kept telling you that he was happy to pay for the arrangement. You then spent many minutes in our lounge shouting at your husband too - and in front of another guest! Your husband even kindly apologized to Rose before he left. Rose feels violated and traumatized by your unacceptable behaviour. This is the reason we chose not to respond to your emails of apology and requests to credit a portion of the charge. It was never about the money! Usually, we would never hesitate to reimburse a guest. Something good has come from this though! We learnt a valuable lesson and will, from now on, give our guests a quote upfront for requested arrangements. For other guests that read this, we urge you to read the reviews from other guests to get a sense of how you will be looked after if you choose to stay with us.
