Bene nel complesso, bella la struttura con alcune pecche in camera. Moquette in stanza e pavimento del bagno dipinto e pericolosa ente scivoloso. Discrepancy nel conto della cena light (lo chef era assente e la cucina non era al 100%), con addebito più che doppio rispetto al dovuto, che al momento del chk out non era stato comunque richiesto ma cimunicatomi successivamente per mail senza scuse per l'equivoco

Schade das es im Restaurant zum Dinner wenig Auswahl gibt. Wenn man länger da ist und Abends nicht nochmal wohin fahren möchte, dann ist man sehr eingeschränkt. Der Service ist lieb und sehr nett aber noch ausbaufähig. Der Pool war nicht wirklich einladend, da Wasser sehr trübe.

Such a lovely property. Very homey — esp. with the thatched roofs — and the fireplace. We appreciated the welcome drink. One caution is there seems to be missed communications between Expedia and staff regarding reservations. Enjoyed the views, the food and the friendly staff!

Dear Tiago, thanks for your positive review. I am glad you enjoyed you stay at WedgeView and like our guesthouse. The room you had booked was one of our 2 Deluxe Rooms, which are our smallest and cheapest rooms. At the time you made the booking it was also our last available room. We only have 2 rooms in this category. All our other rooms (Garden Deluxe, Vineyard, Superior and suites are a lot bigger. Maybe you would consider booking a larger room at a slightly higher rate, but would meet your expectations better. Hope to welcome you back soon to WedgeView. Kein 5-Sternestandard
Wir sind für 2 Nächte in diesem Hotel geblieben. In Bezug auf die Hotelbewertungen und die Sternebewertung. haben wir andere Erwartungen an das Hotel gehabt, als wir dieses tatsächlich vorgefunden waren. Die Anlage war ziemlich heruntergekommen, die Pools dreckig und die Einrichtung des Zimmers (außer des Badezimmers) entsprach dem vor 30 Jahren. Nichtsdestotrotz war das Hotelpersonal sehr zuvorkommend. Wir haben zuvor ebenfalls 2 Nächte in einem anderen 5-Sternehotel in Stellenbosch verbracht, und hatten uns vom Wedgeview ein ebenfalls so guten Standard erhofft. Zusammenfassend können wir dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen, wenn man sich ein 5-Sternehotel wie nach europäischen Standard erhofft.

Dear Christoph, thanks for your feedback, which I have read great surprise. It could well be that your expectations were different, but that is obviously subjective. But to call our guesthouse shabby and outdated is really not fair at all. We have invested over the last 2 years and did major maintenance and upgrades to our property. The fact that you don't like the decor in the room and claim it is from 30 years ago is again very subjective in my view not fair. Don't really understand what decor you are referring to either. I don't understand the fact that you forget to mention you had booked our cheapest and smallest room without a view and we complimentary upgraded you. Your were upgraded to a lovely much more spacious Superior Room with bathroom ensuite with bath and separate shower and the room has a lovely balcony with stunning views, but you forget to mention this. You stayed with us last Thu 21 and Fri 22 Oct and both days the weather was actually not great or rather pretty bad with lot's of rain (50mm) and strong wind. This definitely had an effect on the cleanliness of our pools overnight, but you must have noticed that the moment the weather allowed it and our staff had the chance to clean it, they did thoroughly. Our pools are cleaned on a daily basis. I am however glad that you were very happy with our staff being very accommodating. We do find it strange that you didn't mention anything on checkout when our duty manager asked if you enjoyed your stay, which you replied that you did. Maybe we could have doe something during your stay if you would have mentioned something. It is obviously a disappointment to read such a review and a rating of 4 out of 10, but we always strive to improve. So thanks again for your feedback. Kind regards, Dave & The WedgeView Team

Glad I chose Wedgeview
I never write reviews but I had to this time. Amazing service. Beautiful place. So glad I booked here, my husband was thrilled. We had a wedding close by and decided to make a weekend of it. We swam, had some local beer and enjoyed their delicious food. The staff were all so helpful. Unforgettable. Thanks!

Romantic weekend away
Swimming pool when we arrived was a little dirty. However the next day it was cleaner. Otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay!

Our pools are checked and cleaned on a daily basis, but it can happen that because of weather conditions (winds, rain or very hot sunny weather), the pool get's a little dirty, but if it does, we always attend to it asap, to make sure our guests can enjoy our pool to the fullest. We have stopped here before and it retained its high level of comfort and service. Set in the vineyards just outside of town the surrounding view over the mountains is stunning.The room overlooking the gardens and the mountain view was large and well appointed with easy chairs, air conditioning, desk, usb charging points by the bed. The bathroom is huge, with 2 sinks, shower and bath. The pool and gardens are well kept and the pool lovely and warm. The breakfast is probably one of the best we have had with a huge selection of fresh fruit, bread, pastries, cheese and meat. Great selection of juices and the the hot selection is nice and varied, from full English, wraps to smoked salmon etc. Lunch menu looked adequate though we never got the chance to actually try it out. My wife had a spa treatment which she enjoyed very much. The evening turn down service was very nice touch as well. Few niggles about the room, a kettle is supplied but nowhere really suitable to put, the floor was the best I could find, desk supplied but no desk light so the lighting by the desk was poor, the only international plug socket was behind a chair but only niggles really.

Originally booked a vineyard view room thinking it has a balcony but I was mistaken. Hotel kindly let me change to room in the main block which had a sitting area outside and a great view. Enjoyed sitting in the garden and taking in the views.

One to return to
My second stay, and it was longer than the first which tells you all you need to know. I also hope it wasn't my last. It really is a delightful place. Well run, beautiful grounds and breathtaking surroundings. The breakfasts are excellent and I couldn't fault the food on the two evenings I ate in.

Ich habe hier meine Bonusnacht eingelöst. Dementsprechend (oder vielleicht auch sonst) war der Empfang nicht wirklich willkommen. Es wrde behauptet wir müssen trotzdem zahlen. Unser Zimmer war nicht schön und die Möbel schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Einzig das Frühstück war gut. Schade, habe mir sonst von einem 5 Sterne Hotel (Freundlichkeit, Zimmer) viel mehr erhofft.

Dear anonymous guest, with real surprise I have read your feedback. We would have preferred to have received this feedback during or at the end of your stay, to maybe being able to rectify things or move you to another room. It is hard for us to really understand your problems if you choose to be anonymous when writing a review and not referring to the room you have stayed in. It is then difficult to know why you did't like your room, which is obviously always subjective. I also don't understand what you mean saying that the furniture in your room was getting old. Again, if you would have pointed this out during your stay, we could have maybe done something about it or for you or maybe moved you to another room which would have been more of your liking and a more contemporary look. You mention you you redeemed your bonus night with us, but it is not clear to us what you mean by this as we don't do such a thing as bonus nights. We are also not sure why you would say our check in or reception wasn't very welcoming. We welcome all our guests with a welcome drink and we show all our guests around the property and then to their room in a very welcoming way. So again not sure what you mean. We are though glad to hear you enjoyed our breakfast. It is a real pity your stay was disappointing as the majority of our guests really enjoy their stay with us and you can also read that back in the reviews. Again, I do believe it is always better to inform us if there is something wrong or not of your liking, so that we can see what we can do to improve or rectify a mistake. Better than expected, but with cool weather and rain much colder and not prepared well for that. Swam one afternoon but too cold in am when I swim at home. suggest just a bit warmer pool.

It is autumn this time of the year, so I can get pretty cold outside and then of course the pool temperature will also be cold. On a nice autumn day or after we have had some nice warmer autumn days, the pool does get warmer than normal from our pool solar panels. In summer tends to make a difference of between 5-7 degrees Celsius. We will also look into a possibility of maybe adding a heat pump to her up our pool in the colder months of the year. Nice intimate country hotel in the vineyards.
A quiet country retreat set in the heart of a vineyard. The grounds are well maintained and give a very pleasant setting. There are 2 pool areas to relax as well as outdoor undercover decking area, there is also communal lounge areas. Breakfast is a mix of continental and then cooked to order served outside if the weather is suitable. We were upgraded for which we were most grateful to a large superior room with 2 outside sitting area, views over the vineyards to the far hills. The room itself had a king bed and settee but strangely no chair for the desk. The bathroom had shower and bath. There were spa facilities that seemed a reasonable price but we didn’t have time to use. We would stay again.

A lovely little slice of the winelands
This is such a wonderful retreat. Nestled down the dirt road of a working vineyard, this country house is quiet and modest yet quite luxurious. The perfect place to be spoiled with relaxation, delicious food and wine and spectacular views. My stay was short so I hope to return someday to really relish this place and its slow life away from it all. The sunset over the mountains and countryside is worth the trip alone!

Fantastic place!
We stayed here after a 28 hour journey from la! It was perfect! Quiet, restful, beautiful! We were greeted with a delicious glass of red wine

Fantastic spot
Wonderful accommodation started off perfectly when we were met with a lovely glass of wine! Staff were fantastic and arranged us an excellent wine tour - we had a 3 course evening meal which was lovely. All in all an excellent experience and one I would recommend without reservation

Mucket trevligt boende i Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch var en given anhalt på vår resa längs the Garden Route. Tyvärr hade vi endast bokat två nätter på detta underbara hotell med otroligt trevlig och tillmötesgående personal! Rummet var stort, luftigt, städat och väldigt mysigt. Vi hade balkong med en slående utsikt över vinodlingarna. Vi beställde en underbar ostbricka och en god flaska vin som vi njöt av på balkongen vår första kväll, det var helt magiskt! Frukostbuffen var inte överdådig, där fanns allt vi önskade av goda ostar och pålägg, yoghurt, färsk frukt, flingor, färskt bröd och croissanter, och allt av god kvalitet! I tillägg kunde vi beställa äggrätter mm. För en som älskar frukost, och som är rätt kräsen när det kommer till hotellfrukostar, så måste jag säga att jag var mycket nöjd med frukosten på Wedgeview! Det enda som möjligen var något negativt var kanske att man antingen får köra eller ta taxi (som hotellet arrangerar) för att komma till byn. Det var inte särskilt dyrt och chauffören som både körde och hämtade oss var mycket trevlig! Allt som allt hade vi två jätte trevliga dagar i Stellenbosch och när vi kommer tillbaka kommer Wedgeview att vara det självklara valet!

WedgeView is located in the middle of the Vineyards and is indeed a short drive out of Stellenbosch centre, but we see that as a great advantage to be surrounded by vineyards.
