The banks of the Aude River, as well as the historic center of Bastide-Saint-Louis with the Canal du Midi, are also easily accessible on foot or by bike. To cool off, you’ll have two options: the water park or Lac de la Cavayère, both located in Carcassonne. Near Carcassonne, you can explore all the region’s treasures: the natural landscapes of the Montagne Noire (lakes, waterfalls, the Limousis Caves, and the Gouffre Géant de Cabrespine), the Cathar castles of Lastours and Saissac, Lagrasse, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, the Upper Aude Valley with its mountain ranges, and the plains of the Lauragais.
