“This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some.”

“Personnel très accueillant et sympathique. Chambre peu spacieuse mais confortable, salle de bain grande mais pas assez de tablettes pour déposer les effets personnels. Déjeuner style buffet copieux avec fruits frais et œufs fait sur demande. On a aimé la piscine, juste assez grande pour se rafraîchir et lire un peu. On a même eu la chance d’observer un paresseux de très proche grimper sur un arbre.”

“Chambre très propre et confortable malgré un problème de connexion wi-fi. Un seul bémol : pas de réception à l'hôtel. Notre chambre était située à l'entrée du village à l'écart de l'hôtel (15 mn du centre du village donc pas de soucis). Nous n'avons eu aucun contact avec le personnel de l'hôtel qui était situé dans le centre du village. Nous y sommes allés mais n'avons trouvé personne ! ”

“We discovered that we LOVE Casa Marbella, one of the highlights of our visit to Costa Rica this time! Family owned and run, one of the oldest hotels in Tortugero, the Casa Marbella staff provides friendly, expert, and excellent customer service (boat taxi pick up at the airport, guided tours by boat and in the preserve, etc.) The hotel is small, right on the river, and quiet. We loved staying here and definitely would go back.”

“The Cabinas is close to the beach with shower at entrance so you can wash feet or body before getting to your room. The staff are kind, even if difficult to communicate at times as some don't speak English, but they do their best. The hammocks are a pleasure in the afternoon. “L'esperienza delle tartarughe è valsa il viaggio. Attenzione che può essere faticosa. Dicono che si cammina due km tra andata e ritorno. Noi ne abbiamo fatti lameno 5, a passo di carica, probabilmente perchè il posto in cui si erano avvistate le tartarughe era relativamente più lontano del solito Eccellente esercizio, ma se uno è già stanco...L'escursione in canoa vale abbastanza la pena.”

“Es un lugar totalmente rústico. Para llegar, es necesario tomar una lancha. Sin embargo, está muy confortable, limpio y protegido. La comida que ofrecen es muy buena, el entorno es el lago, vegetación, y aves hermosas. Y lo mejor de todo, el trato del personal es excelente (Edgar, el barman, excepcional atención). Para ir al pueblo, también se toma taxi acuático. Toda una hermosa experiencia para relajarse en medio de la naturaleza”
