DESCRIZIONE
Situato nel cuore di Carmel by the Sea, questo monolocale monolocale a pochi passi da tutto - ristoranti, spiagge, negozi boutique - eppure situato in un tranquillo lotto di dimensioni doppie tra un bosco di querce secolari che offre tranquillità e privacy. La casa è stata ampiamente rinnovata con bagno nuovo, cucina, pavimenti in legno, letto matrimoniale e nuovi mobili in tutto.

Questo monolocale indipendente è stato completamente aggiornato con comfort moderni, pur mantenendo l'autenticità e il carattere della casa originale, tra cui pavimenti in legno di pino, elementi di chiusura a pollice e finestre di vetro ondulato. La casa offre un lussuoso letto king-size orientale con lenzuola in cotone egiziano a 1200 fili, copripiumino in lino belga e fodere per cuscino. Tutto è al top della linea.

We stayed 11 nights in this charming historic cottage at the end of a winding garden path. Walk to amazing restaurants, wine tastings, boutiques, historical venues, expansive gallery district, and Carmel Beach. Drive for a few minutes to reach Steinbeck's Cannery Row, inspiring hikes, dramatic coastline, Santa Lucia Highlands wineries, or a short distance more to Santa Cruz, Big Sur and Pinnacles National Park. This stay is a retreat in evey way, from its cottage chic ambience to the owner's personal touch as a host. Stamped post cards to be shared, a welcoming bottle of Monterey County wine, scattered hand-written notes to be discovered, and a wonderfully creative dessert are examples of how Barry made our stay unique among the many we have experienced. And then there's Carmel-by-the-Sea... we've visited on 25 or more occasions. From daytrips to a weekend to extended stays like this one, Carmel, Big Sur Coast and greater Monterey County offer as diverse a vacation experience as any geographical local in our country. When you've decided to make your visit to the Central California Coast, do consider Dream Cottage one or YOUR memories among many in this enchanting destination. We couldn't have been more pleased!

Barry is one of the best hosts I’ve engaged with on VRBO. Clear and timely communication are just two of his hallmarks. His Carmel Cottage is pristine and so welcoming. It’s also perfectly situated in Carmel to be just off the beaten path yet walkable to everything. Additionally, there are several thoughtful approaches by Barry to make for an ideal stay. When I booked months ago, he reached out to learn more about the purpose of our trip, the types of restaurants we like and other seemingly small details that all manifest in ways large and small in welcoming us to the cottage. This is a host who genuinely strives to make your visit perfect. We can’t wait to plan our return visit to Carmel. We will absolutely look to stay at Barry’s property again!

We have traveled quite extensively and I can say we have never received more gracious and thoughtful hospitality. Barry provides a 5 Star Concierge Level service equal to any luxury hotel or premium resort. Location is great and everything one needs is provided. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Barry is the finest host we have ever had at VRBO, or any other rental platform. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - wine & cheese board upon our arrival, homemade cookies with ice cream, and a couple of unobtrusive check ins during our stay to make sure everything was running smoothly.Barefoot Comfort is equally outstanding. It is impeccably designed and furnished, with top of the line linens, bath towels, and furnishings. On site laundry was a plus. The location is fabulous! We walked to dinner, the galleries and shopping.We are excited about our next stay.

Beautiful cottage in a secret garden

If we could give 1000 stars in all categories, we would! Cozy, quaint, clean, magical. This cottage was the perfect place for two and came with all the amenities! My husband and I spent a week here for our 10th anniversary. Conveniently located to surrounding towns and trails, we were able to revisit so many places from my childhood, an easy drive to everything! Don’t feel like driving? We were in walking distance to cute shops, restaurants and the beach!! Barry is a wonderful host, easily accessible for questions. Aside from the amazing serene garden landscape with calming water fountains, we were welcomed with a delicious board of crackers, cheese, jam and wine waiting for us! What a nice treat after traveling across country. Barry makes sure to give the finest touches. We will definitely be staying here again if we visit, and will recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Wonderful little cottage

We are so glad that we rented this property. We could walk to all of the shops and restaurants, yet we were on a quiet residential street. The cottage itself is lovely, from the decor, original details, and the surrounding gardens. Barry was the perfect host who made us feel welcome and at home before, during, and after our stay.

Perfect Little Spot

Barry the host was awesome. Had a little charcuterie board and wine waiting in the cottage when we arrived and some tips on things in and around Carmel. Easy to get a hold of him. Great little one room, one bath spot with a kitchen and a laundry room below. Just about 2 blocks to walk into the retail section of Carmel and its cool little shops and restaurants. We went whale watching, beach combing, bike riding, kayaking, hiking in Big Sur, hiking in Pinnacles, did a spa afternoon, and plenty more all within an hour and a half or less of a drive, most being within about 20 minutes. Would definitely recommend going, it was great!

Sweet Carmel Cottage

The Starfish cottage is perfect. It is a charming and fully equipped space with everything you need. Sweet touches abound with beautiful lighting, deluxe bed and bedding, garden space, full kitchen and a quiet in town location under the pines. Just a short walk to everything Carmel. Amazing Trip!

My wife and I came stayed in this VRBO for our planned elopement in the Big Sur. When we booked the stay, Barry called us to introduce himself, to learn about us, and the reason for our stay. Barry did a great job communicating with us about the place and even made an adjustment on the length of our stay seamless. Barry knew we were coming for our wedding and wrote us a handwritten card and gave us a cheese and cracker plate with a bottle of wine. It was very thoughtful! He had a few other really nice things he did but I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone staying here. Just know that Barry really cares about the people that stay at the cottage. We plan on returning in the future to revisit our ceremony location and won't stay anywhere else!

Where do I start..

The only aspect better than our charming cottage, amazingly comfortable bed and linens, perfect location (easy walk to everything in town and to gorgeous beach), sensational location to route 1 drive and Big Sur, as well as to Monterey for aquarium, 17 mile drive, etc., was the absolutely supreme host, Barry, with whom we felt an instant kinship. He knows all of the best hideaways as well as the "musts" for first-time visitors, and i know it will get even better as we continue to visit bc once isn't even close to enough! We have already signed up to stay again next year. We are two western New York special education teachers who really are not annually able to take such a vacation, but Barry's place is reasonable for what you get in return and very worth the sacrifice and savings in the interim. We couldn't be more impressed! And more eager to return!!

Fantastic stay in Carmel

We stayed for a week in Barry’s Starfish cottage. It was cozy, very clean and comfortable. What a treat to find a charcuterie tray, chocolates and a bottle of wine! Loved the location. It was so convenient to walk to restaurants and all of the shops in Carmel. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Barry for taking care of us!

Cute, comfy and well-located

We spent 8 lovely nights in Barry's Guest House on an extended vacation. He was SUCH a wonderful host! Proactive in sharing information and very responsive when we had any questions. We had been to Las Vegas and Disneyland prior to arrival in Carmel. What a pleasant change! The cottage had everything we could possibly need. From the beyond comfortable bedding to the luxurious shower, everything was awesome. Several times later in the trip, we lamented how much we missed the always ready hot water and great water pressure in the cottage shower. We watched TV comfortably most night. Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV were all available with our subscriptions. And it was so nice having access to convenient laundry facilities downstairs from the cottage. Thanks, Barry!

Romantic Escape to Carmel

We were on our 40th Anniversary trip and stayed at this dreamy little place. It is so quaint. Very clean and comfortable. Small but doesn’t feel small because every detail is perfect. From the start, our host, staged a romantic atmosphere. The lights turned down low and music on the tv as we entered along with a nice note and treat on the table welcoming us. It was a lovely surprise and set the tone for our trip. Barry is an excellent host. He was a wealth of knowledge of things to do and see, not just tourist spots but unique places. He had little surprises throughout our stay that were so thoughtful but not intrusive. You will love this place!! We will definitely return.

Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway

We stayed for a week in this little studio/cottage just steps from the hustle and bustle of downtown Carmel, with a location so quiet and secluded it felt like everyone was miles away. We have stayed in many rentals and Barry's communication was by far the best of any of the hosts we have worked with. The info provided prior to arrival was perfect, and his response time to any questions we had was superb. He is clearly committed to every guest having a wonderful experience. The cottage is exactly as pictured/described. The bed was very comfy and the linens were wonderful. The provided toiletries were a pleasant surprise - liquid soap for the bathroom sink plus shower gel and shampoo in the shower - and unlike most hotels they did not have a strong scent, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants & shops. If you are not familiar with Carmel you should be aware that the beach is a fairly steep walk uphill to return to the cottage. But there is public parking and street parking if the walk is too much for you. If we find ourselves back in Carmel in the future I would only rent from Barry.

Darling cottage

Loved every minute!!!! Cheese platter and wine was a treat!!! Bed was so comfortable and location could not be better!!! Thank you Barry for all you did to make it an absolutely lovely visit!!!

Enchanting Honeymoon

The only reason NOT to stay here is if it’s already booked. We utilize VRBO for all of our travels and have had a lot of good hosts along the way. Barry is by far above them all. Communication began at booking. He was flexible with our dates, he kept in touch periodically up to our stay, and checked in a few times while we were there to see if we needed anything, He thought of every detail. The cottage was very clean, perfectly located, and stocked with everything you might need. The cottage is located within easy walking distance of everything in the Plaza, Carmel Beach, the scenic houses along the beach; Point Lobos is only a couple miles away, Mission Ranch a five minute drive, Big Sur a gorgeous 30 mile drive south along the coast of Hwy 1, and Monterey about 15 minutes north. Carmel is a beautiful fairytale place that speaks for itself but Barry and the cottage make you feel like a local with a home away from home.
