Relax to the Sound of the River while you soak in a Private Hot Tub

Unique, off-grid experience!
Sleep to the sound of the river & enjoy a nice cup of coffee while you take in the soothing views of the trees and you hear the river flowing in the morning.

Perfect for the minimalist, artistic, adventurous hipster within.

This space is great for a quiet weekend away from the city, from which you can explore Carmel Valley Village wine-tasting (8 miles), Monterey (24 miles) and Big Sur (45 miles), or a peaceful artist retreat.

There is a mini-fridge, stove top, microwave & hot shower and Smart TV with full reclining movie theatre chairs. We provide Silverware, dishes, pots/pans, keurig coffee pods, salt, pepper, sugar & olive oil are provided as well.

*Tv does not have cable or satellite but you may stream any streaming service you are subscribed to.

Enjoy the morning view with a fresh cup of coffee, toast the evening with a glass of wine and stargaze as you wind down in the HOT TUB. This space is great for a quiet weekend away from the city. With no light pollution, the stars are bright and you can easily get carried away enjoying the simple yet most beautiful things life has to offer—Mother Earth and good company.

You can explore Carmel Valley, Monterey and Big Sur, or simply enjoy the peacefulness of the property and surrounding atmosphere itself.

The property is very cozy for a quick getaway. Amazing hot tub and a very comfortable sleeping arrangement. Although, the place is located quite far from most activities or attractions and the road up can seem daunting. We did have a problem with a propane leak which they fixed.

Mice everywhere inside. Spiders in webs in the corners. The coffee pot still had dirty grounds in it. The hot tub was filthy. My husband said he felt like a toad in a stew pot. Caution.

Trailer by the River

The drive to Refuge by the River was 5.5 miles up a steep, narrow road with many curves. It took about 30 minutes from Carmel Valley Village. The trailer was clean and well supplied and had nice views of the hills. Our stay was limited to one night since the distance and road was not favorable for the entire weekend stay.

Peaceful

Once we got there we enjoyed the solitude and peace of this beautiful neighborhood. But I have to admit that we were surprised by how how far out it was from Carmel Valley road. We drove up a windy country road for almost 6 miles and it took 20-25 minutes due to taking it slowly and watching out for other cars and deer. Again, it was beautiful, but it was a long drive for us. I wish the location map in the app was more accurate. We slept to the sounds of nature very comfortably. The bed is nice and comfy. The kitchen is pretty amazing for an RV. I appreciated the assortment of sharp knives. A rarity in a rental. The hot tub is a big plus. The first night it was lukewarm but it heated up for the next 2 nights. The power went out a couple times and the hot tub shut down. This problem resolved within an hour. The shower works well but I really disliked the sewer smell rising up from the drain. And the remote on the TV did not work after the 1st night. I let the host know but nothing wss done to resolve this.

Perfectly quaint / romantic getaway

Perfect two person stay away for the busy world. About 45min outside of Monterey. 20 minutes from a small town with gas, local marketplaces, and food! The spa was a perfect touch with an amazing view of the valley!
