Unfortunate
The house itself is beautiful and you can tell it was once meticulously maintained. Unfortunately, the current rental company is doing a poor job of keeping it clean and up to the standards advertised in the listing.When we arrived, the home was not properly cleaned — we found mouse droppings in one of the rooms, dirty dishes, stained sheets, and bathroom mats that smelled bad and looked unwashed. The trash can was also broken. We were told upon arrival that the oven wasn’t working, and to their credit, they did send a technician the next day.After we raised concerns about the overall cleanliness, a cleaning company came out the next day, took the linens to be washed, and said they’d return — but they never came back. So we were left trying to make the best of a situation that still didn’t feel fully resolved.The listing on VRBO also significantly oversells the property. It mentions hotel-like amenities in the bathrooms, Bluetooth throughout the home, and other features that were either missing or not as described.For the amount we paid, this stay was very disappointing. If the rental company stepped up their cleaning and maintenance standards, this could be a great place — but in its current state, it’s not worth the premium price.
