Welcome to Modern Rustic Tahoe, our 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath North Lake Tahoe retreat tucked among the pines in the peaceful Fulton Acres neighborhood of Carnelian Bay.

This is more than a vacation rental to us. It’s our Tahoe home, and we’ve enjoyed sharing it with guests for more than 13 years. Whether you’re coming for a ski weekend, summer on the lake, hiking, or simply a few quiet days in the mountains, our goal is to give you a comfortable place where you can settle in, relax and enjoy Tahoe.

THE HOME

Our modern rustic home comfortably sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms, each with a queen bed.

The heart of the home is the open second-floor living area, where dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with natural light and frame beautiful filtered views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains through the pines.

At the center of the living room is one of our favorite and most unique features of the home: a suspended wood-burning fireplace. It’s an eye-catching centerpiece year-round and incredibly cozy when the snow starts falling. On cold Tahoe days and winter nights, there’s nothing quite like gathering around the fire and feeling its warmth throughout the room while looking out through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the surrounding pines.

When the weather warms up, step outside onto the spacious deck, breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the peaceful wooded setting and filtered lake views through the trees.

GOURMET KITCHEN

If you enjoy cooking, you’ll feel right at home. Our fully stocked gourmet kitchen is set up for real cooking, not just reheating takeout. You’ll find cookware, bakeware, dishes, glassware, utensils and the kitchen essentials you need to prepare meals for family and friends.

We also keep the pantry stocked with everyday essentials, so you won’t have to buy every basic ingredient for your stay.

The kitchen opens to the dining and living areas, making it easy for everyone to stay together whether you’re cooking dinner, enjoying a glass of wine or relaxing by the fire.

FAST WI-FI

Need to stay connected while you’re in Tahoe? Our high-speed Wi-Fi has tested at approximately 449 Mbps, making the home a great option for streaming, remote work or keeping everyone connected.

Of course, we personally recommend closing the laptop and enjoying Tahoe whenever possible!

COMFORT & CONVENIENCE

The home includes 2.5 bathrooms, central heating, washer and dryer, high-speed Wi-Fi and the everyday essentials you’ll need for a comfortable stay.

Parking is available at the home. During winter, parking requirements may be affected by snow accumulation and plowing, so please follow the seasonal parking instructions provided for your stay.

FULTON ACRES & THE LOCATION

Modern Rustic Tahoe is located in Fulton Acres, a peaceful residential neighborhood in Carnelian Bay, approximately 600 feet above Lake Tahoe.

Being above the lake gives the home a wonderful mountain setting among the pines, with filtered views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains from the second-floor living area and deck.

One of our favorite things about the location is how quickly you can get outside and enjoy Tahoe. About a five-minute walk from the house brings you to both paved and unpaved trails for walking, hiking and exploring the surrounding area.

Those trails aren’t just for summer. In winter, the area transforms into a snowy playground with nearby access to cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails.

SKIING & WINTER FUN

If you’re coming to Tahoe to ski or snowboard, you’ll have plenty of choices. Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Homewood Mountain Resort and Northstar California are all within a short drive of the house.

Our central North Shore location gives you the flexibility to choose your mountain based on snow conditions, weather or simply where you feel like skiing that day.

After a day on the slopes, come home, kick off your boots and warm up around our suspended wood-burning fireplace while the snow falls outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.

EXPLORE NORTH LAKE TAHOE

We’re centrally located between Tahoe City and Kings Beach, making it easy to explore both sides of the North Shore while still coming home to the quieter mountain setting of Fulton Acres.

Tahoe City and Kings Beach are both just a short drive away for restaurants, shopping, beaches and lake activities.

During the warmer months, Lake Tahoe’s beaches, boating, paddleboarding, hiking and biking are all nearby. Or forget the itinerary completely, relax on the deck and enjoy the fresh mountain air, surrounding pines and filtered views of the lake.

We know a Tahoe trip is even better when the whole family can come along, including the four-legged members.

OUR HOSTING HISTORY

We’re happy to be back on Vrbo! We originally began sharing our Tahoe home with guests more than 13 years ago and previously hosted on Vrbo before taking our listing offline for a few years.

While our current Vrbo listing may look new, we certainly aren’t new to vacation rentals or hosting. We’ve welcomed hundreds of guests to Modern Rustic Tahoe over the years and have earned more than 200 guest reviews on Airbnb, along with Superhost and Guest Favorite recognition.

We personally own and manage our Tahoe home. As a local real estate broker with more than 25 years of experience in real estate and property management, I’ve spent much of my career taking care of homes and the people who live in them. That experience carries over into how we host and care for Modern Rustic Tahoe.

You’re communicating directly with the people who own, use and care about the house, not a large property management company or call center. We know our home, we know the area, and we’re available and responsive when our guests need us.

After more than 13 years of welcoming guests, we’ve learned that the little things matter. Our goal has always been simple: provide a comfortable, well-cared-for Tahoe home where our guests can settle in, relax and have a great stay.
