“Superbly located for golfers - just steps to the R&A. Surprisingly spacious with top-of-the-line appliances. We loved all the thoughtful touches, the shortbread, the wine, beer and water in the fridge. Everything was perfectly clean and well maintained. It was great to be so close to good restaurants, pubs and coffee shops and yet be able to enjoy a peaceful beach vibe. ”

“The property was very clean, and well equipped for self catering simple cooking. It was relatviely spacious. Both the double bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The wifi worked well. It was a great base for exploring the Fife coastal villages, and St Modan's has an excellent smoked fish restaurant.”

“Lovely quiet location right on the peaceful Cellardyke Harbour and minutes from the tidal swimming pool and great quality pizza shack! 10 min walk to Anstruther the fabulous Fishing Museum and world renowned fish and chips shops. Flat has very comfortable beds, good sized living room and kitchen with everything you need- no dishwasher but we didn’t need one. Check in easy via lockbox, easy comms with owner, would recommend. ”

“We regularly stay in and around crail but we Definitely would not recommend Mariners Retreat as there are plenty of other good properties in crail and the surrounding areas.When we arrived there were spiders on the ceilings, mould around the bedroom window and shower area that hadn’t been cleaned either.The outdoor seating area was so over grown we couldn’t sit there.We were only staying 2 nights in crail this time and didn’t continue our stay after we found a bug in one of the beds.( I will...

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We made the mistake of renting a car. Not needed as everything is so close-golf, groceries, coffee, restaurants, pubs, shopping and bus.The flat is amazing. Handled our group of seven easily. Enjoyed the walking tour and took bus to fishing villages No need for guided tour. Hope we can return and look forward to being back at 7 Howard!!”
